Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about the IMVU Homepages.

 

What will happen to my Homepage if I have added custom code?

Adding special coding to your Homepage could cause the page to not display as expected. Test your coding before and after you add it to your Homepage.
 

Why can't I access information about visitors to my Homepage with special coding?

To protect users from bad people who might try to maliciously use scripting, we no longer allow scripts that can access information about page visitors.
 

Why can't I customize the blue bar and other items at the top of the page?

To maintain a consistent look and feel to IMVU.com, we do not allow the customization of the page header.
 

Why don't web links from my Homepage open new pages anymore?

Links you added to the Homepage may open within the Homepage frame depending on the way the link is coded. Add the code target="_top" to your links to break out of the frame.
 

How can I remove all of the custom code from my Homepage and start over?

There are two ways to do this:

  • Click the Edit buttons in each section and delete the code at Edit Custom HTML/CSS.

  • Go to your Account Settings and find the Reset Homepage Panels section. Select all of the panels and click the Reset Panels button.
     

How to search for lost Stickers on my Homepage?

Go to your homepage, click the Edit button, and then click Find Lost Stickers.

NOTE: 
A flashing box will appear showing you where your lost sticker is found.

How to fix other Homepage display problems?

If you were not editing the HTML (or even if you were) prior to experiencing graphic issues, try any one or all of the options below:

  • Using Safe Mode

  • Using Edit Imported HTML

  • Deleting Messages

If you are having difficulties making any of these changes, you may also try switching to a different browser.

If you are still experiencing the same problem even after trying all of the options mentioned, please submit a ticket in our Help Center with the following details:

  • Describe the problem in as much detail as you can. What broke? What exactly do you see on your homepage?

  • Is this a new problem? (i.e. your page was fine and suddenly it changed)

  • Were you doing any HTML editing to your page?

  • If you were editing HTML, did you try to fix it using the Safe mode or the Edit imported HTML button?

  • Did you try deleting your messages? (in case one of them contained HTML or Javascript that was affecting your page alignment)


How to Set Restrictions to My Homepage?

Under the Panel Visibility Settings section, choose the area of your homepage where you would like to impose the restrictions. Once done, click the Update Preferences button to save your settings.
