If you were not editing the HTML (or even if you were) prior to experiencing graphic issues, try any one or all of the options below until you are able to fix your homepage problem:

  • Using Safe Mode

  • Resetting Your Homepage Panels

  • Filing a Ticket

OPTION I: Using Safe Mode

STEP 1: Try using the Safe mode by clicking the Safe button located below the IMVU header at the upper right corner of your homepage.

STEP 2: When you are done, click the Safe button again to bring your homepage back to its normal mode.

OPTION II: Resetting Your Homepage Panels

Doing this option will allow you to reset any custom HTML/CSS added to that panel. It will not change any customizations done using IMVU's customizing tools nor will it delete any messages sent.

STEP 1: Go to www.imvu.com, and then login to your account.

STEP 2: Click Account located at the top of your account page.

STEP 3: Scroll to the reset homepage panels section, and then check the panels that you want to reset.

STEP 4: Click the Reset Panels button.

OPTION III: Filing a Ticket

If you are still experiencing the same problem after trying the two options mentioned, please submit a Case ticket in our Help Center with the following details:

STEP 1: Go to the Help Center to submit a ticket.

STEP 2: Click the Contact Us button, then click on the Submit A Case option.

STEP 3: Select General Support as Case Category, and then select Other on General Topics.

STEP 4: Enter the details listed below that would be helpful in investigating your problem:

  • Describe the problem in as much detail as you can. What broke? What exactly do you see on your homepage?

  • Is this a new problem? (i.e. your page was fine and suddenly it changed)

  • Were you doing any HTML editing to your page?

  • If you were editing HTML, did you try to fix it using the "Safe" mode or the "Edit imported HTML" button?

  • Did you try deleting your messages? (in case one of them contained html or java script that was affecting your page alignment)

  • Which panel on your homepage (if any) is being affected?

  • What browser are you using? If you are having difficulties making any change, you may also try switching to a different browser.

  • Did you try deleting your messages? (in case one of them contained html or java script that was affecting your page alignment)

  • Feel free to send us a screenshot of your homepage if you feel it would be helpful. You can do this in the Case that you will submit through our Help Center.

Additionally, note that starting Google Chrome Version 68 (release date: July 2018) all sites not using secure HTTP (HTTPS) will be displayed incorrectly. To make sure your homepage does not break, update all your HTTP links to HTTPS. The links should still work correctly, and if not they will need to be changed.

IMVU will start enforcing the use of HTTPS on all homepage custom coding starting June 28, 2018. This will ensure your homepage displays correctly across all users, since more than half of all people on the Internet use Google Chrome. Not making the necessary changes will cause your homepage to break and display incorrectly.
