How to Find and Add Friends in IMVU

Got someone you know that you’d like to add as a friend in IMVU? Just follow the easy steps below:

On the IMVU Classic Website

STEP 1. On the upper right-hand portion of any IMVU webpage, point your mouse on the Community tab, then click on

People Search.

STEP 2. On the lower left-hand portion of the screen labeled Find a Friend, type in the avatar name or e-mail address of the person you are looking for, then hit Search.

STEP 3. To add this person as a friend, click the icon on the upper right-hand corner of the avatar details.

A pop-up will inform you that a friend request has been sent.

On IMVU Classic

OPTION I:

This option is best used if you know the exact avatar name of the person you are looking for.

STEP 1. Click on the Friends tab in your IMVU Classic.

STEP 2. On the upper right-hand side, click on Add Friend.

STEP 3. Type in your friend’s avatar name, then hit Add Friend. A request will automatically be sent to the avatar.

OPTION II:

This option can be used to search for avatar names through filters. This works best if you know only a portion of the avatar name you are looking for.

STEP 1. On the second page of the IMVU Classic’s home screen, click on Find People.

STEP 2. In the search box, type in the avatar name you are looking for. You may also type in an interest. Click on the options below the box to set the items as filters for your search. By default, the search only looks for users who are currently Online, so be sure to remove that filter if you aren’t sure if your friend is online.

STEP 3. Click on the avatar picture of the person you would like to add. On the lower part of the person’s avatar card, click on Add Friend. A friend request will automatically be sent to the avatar.
