VIP customers now have the ability to control or manage users who can join their public chat rooms! We often want to have a friends-only party or celebration, a role-play session with our IMVU family, or just hang out with a select group of people. Room Access Control also allows VIP’s to set their rooms accessible by other VIPs only, and Access Pass members can set their rooms accessible by other AP holders only. To access this feature and customize this feature, follow the steps below:
On IMVU Classic (IMVU Client)
STEP 1: Log in to IMVU Classic (IMVU Client).
STEP 2: Go to Chat Rooms then click Manage.
STEP 3: Select the room you wish to manage then click Edit.
STEP 4: The room management tool will now have all of these controls depending on your own account status (name owner, VIP, AP, Age-verified, etc.).
NOTE: These room controls can also be easily switched on and off to suit your needs.
All your rooms still have their current settings and these new controls do not automatically apply to them. Room owners will have to choose to use these controls for their rooms via the room management function.
STEP 5: After selecting your desired option, click Save.
On the IMVU Website and IMVU Desktop
STEP 1: Go to https://www.imvu.com/next/home/ or login to IMVU Desktop and go to “Chat”.
STEP 2: Click on “My Rooms” and select the room you want to make changes to.
STEP 3: Go to Settings.
STEP 4: The room management tool will now have all of these controls depending on your own account status (name owner, VIP, AP, Age-verified, etc.).
NOTE: These room controls can also be easily switched on and off to suit your needs.
All your rooms still have their current settings and these new controls do not automatically apply to them. Room owners will have to choose to use these controls for their rooms via the room management function.
STEP 5: After selecting your desired option, click Save.
If you are a VIP user:
You will have the ability to set the room to "friends-only". You can enjoy your VIP lifestyle even more!
You can make your rooms available and accessible only to your friends, so that guest members cannot join the room.
Your friends do NOT need to be VIP members. The room owner needs to be an active VIP member in order to set their room for those that are on their friends list.
If you are Age-verified:
You can make your rooms accessible to other age-verified adults only.
If you are a VIP or name registered user:
You can make your rooms accessible to non-guest users only.
All active VIPs can use this room access controls whether or not they have separately registered their names. Users who have registered their names can also use this feature regardless of their VIP status.
Users who have guest in their avatar names cannot enter such rooms. All VIP members (except those on the VIP trial), as well as anyone who has registered their name, can enter these rooms.
