Ready to put your styling skills to the test? Outfit Challenges are a chance to show off your creativity, discover new looks, and compete for rewards. Each challenge brings a fresh theme, from chic streetwear to glamorous red carpet vibes, and it’s up to you to style the perfect outfit that fits the moment.

Whether you’re mixing pieces from your own closet or shopping the latest drops from the Event Shop, every look you create is an opportunity to shine. Once you’ve styled your avatar, you can submit your outfit, vote on other players’ looks, and even shop the items you love straight from their creations.

Styling for Outfit Challenges

Outfit Challenges are your chance to show off your creativity! Each challenge, you’ll get a new theme to style your avatar around. Use items from your inventory or discover new looks from the Event Shop to put together the perfect outfit.

How to Style Your Avatar

1. Open the Challenge

   • Tap on the challenge you want to join.

   • Review the theme (e.g., “Cozy Fall Vibes” or “Red Carpet Glam”).
     
     

2. Check the Requirements

   • Some challenges may require a specific color, style, or product type from the Event Shop.

   • A checklist will update as you meet the requirements. For example, it will display 0/3 Ready, indicating the different number of requirements for each challenge.

   • All requirements must be completed before you can submit your look.

Some requirements call for specific products carefully curated by IMVU. For example, if sunglasses are required, only specific sunglasses may count toward the requirement.

3. Dress Up Your Avatar

   • Use your Inventory to access your items.

   • Switch to the Event Shop without leaving the styling screen if you need something new.
     
     

4. Mix and Match

   • Try different combinations, toggle items on or off, and use undo/redo/reset to refine your look.

   • You’ll see all products currently in your outfit for easy editing.
     
     

5. Preview Your Outfit

   • Select how your avatar will appear in voting.

   • Preview your pose to see what others will see.

   • Remember: Final results are displayed as a static 2D image.
     
     

6. Submit Your Outfit

   • Once satisfied, submit your outfit to the challenge.

Tips for Styling

• Use filters, search, and sorting tools to quickly find items in your Inventory or the Event Shop.

• Stay on-theme to improve your chances of receiving higher scores.

• Easily see what you’re wearing and toggle products on and off in the “Wearing” section in Dress Up. 

• Make sure you have everything you need before entering the challenge–progress won’t be saved if you leave the challenge.

• View the challenge card beforehand to see all requirements and rewards before you begin styling.

Styling Scoring, Results, and Rewards

Scoring

Outfits are scored based on how other players vote. Your final rating determines the rewards you receive.

• Voting-Based Scoring: Other players vote in head-to-head battles to decide which outfit they prefer.

• Star Rating: Results are displayed as a star rating out of 5 (e.g., 3.89★). Scores are rounded down, so every vote matters.

Results

• Once voting ends, you’ll get a notification when your results are ready.

• You can revisit past challenges to view your scores at any time.

Rewards

• Rewards are cumulative based on your star rating. For example, earning 4 stars means you’ll also receive the rewards for 1, 2, and 3 stars. 

  • Scores are rounded down when determining rewards.

• Rewards are granted automatically and don’t require claiming.

Voting on Outfits

After styling, you can help decide which looks stand out by voting.

How Voting Works

• You’ll see two outfits from the same challenge and select your favorite.

• You can cast up to 50 votes and earn rewards for every 5 votes you make. 

  • You may continue voting afterward, but no additional rewards will be granted.

• Each vote directly contributes to the final score of those outfits.

Rewards

• Voting Rewards: Earn rewards for every 5 votes you cast, up to a total of 50 votes.

Fair Voting

• The system ensures fairness by balancing which outfits appear, showing a variety across scores, styles, and users.

• Anti-spam protections are in place. Voting too quickly may result in your account being flagged for review and may prevent you from voting for up to 24 hours.

• Usernames are hidden during voting to maintain anonymity and ensure fairness.

Reporting Products and Outfits

If you find an item in the Event Shop or an outfit during voting that seems inappropriate, you can report it directly from your screen. All reports are sent to our moderation team for review. 

Event Shop Reporting

1. Long-press the item you’d like to report.

2. Tap Report Product.

3. Select the reason for the report.

4. Tap Submit to complete the report.  

Outfit Reporting (Voting Screen)

1. Tap the magnifying glass below the outfit you’d like to report. 

2. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner. 

3. Tap Report Outfit. 

4. Tap Submit to complete the report. 

If you changed your mind, tap View Look in the upper left corner. This will return you to the voting screen so you can cast your vote.
