It's been basically a whole month since I opened a case with CS. After assuring me on 6/30 that "We have received your request and will make the proper adjustments," the case was closed without any update or reason given. So, I opened it again. July is nearly gone, no feedback at all. How do I know if my accounts are already linked or not?

It's frustrating that IMVU forces this on us, and yet it seems it cannot make the adjustments under their own arbitrary deadlines... or at least give me the tiniest clue of what's going on. :-/

So since you are standing on the fact that IMVU is doing something unethical, are you going to be ethical and refund every single customer or creator that bought or dev'd off of your catalog if you break the items?

I agree. IMVU is awful but don’t betray your customer’s trust. I would be so sad and hurt if a lot of products I own and love were suddenly destroyed and stripped bare.

So my partner got an email from his Spotify subscription earlier notifying him that his subscription price was gonna go up by a dollar, but you know what they also included? A reason why. They detailed why they were making the change and what they were planning on investing in with the extra money. IMVU can you do that, please? Transparency is great! You might get a more favorable response from the community if you do so. I know I’m still harping on this, but man.

I have lost so much faith and respect for this company over recent years for a multitude of reasons. I don’t think it’s a wild and dangerous concept to let your customers know the reasons certain changes are needed. I can swing the new subscription price. It’ll tighten my budget a lot but it is possible for me. But, I don’t want to support imvu right now. I’m still really upset. Also the fact that no one on staff took over for Rigs on the forum while they were gone is so unprofessional and neglectful. A staff member had to be dragged in here.

Not to mention, this is probably the 100,000th time someone has had this idea. I love that people think that punishing their customers is a great idea. That's the people you're going to piss off; not IMVU. Why? Because IMVU has all of your products backed up on their servers. All you're going to do is cause some low level tech to spend an hour restoring your products, get yourself and probably your IP banned for life, and have however many customers using your products bad mouthing you.

We can no longer edit products that have been derived from without getting permission from CS. I don't think they would accept "So I can trash them"

I have maintained years of silence and years of quiet...

the interest waned... the credit resale market was wiped...

It has been long...

And now... this...

Has the company ever considered that us source file developers of many original base files might just up and get so fed up, we mutilate our source, and cause a domino of crashing products?

Really... someone might start that... And I am sure it wont be pretty...

now considering if i should pay 10 bucks monthly to get 70 bucks every few months...

IMVU needs to understand the impact of the suggestions that led to the belief that grandfathered accounts are harming the platform's revenue. Instead of resorting to abuse, I want to bring attention to a relevant analogy: the journey of a lion from a cub to adulthood. It takes time for lions to develop their hunting skills and become capable of catching deer. Similarly, grandfathered accounts represent long-standing users who have matured and honed their skills over the years.

IMVU, over time, seems to have become more profit-focused, introducing numerous changes and new features. However, when IMVU was initially created, it granted users the freedom to create and express themselves. It feels like the platform has undergone significant changes, while the users have remained committed to it.

In this comparison, guest accounts can be likened to lion cubs on a journey of learning, eventually becoming skilled and professional creators after years of dedication. The concern is that recent developments seem to disregard the contributions of these long-standing users. There's a sense that IMVU was once lagging behind SL, but through the efforts of creators like Cloud Dust, the quality of avatars has vastly improved. Similarly, the scaler has rectified issues with avatar appearance. Particle creators have also played a significant role in making IMVU an appealing and imaginative platform.

However, there appears to be a lack of acknowledgment for these contributions. If grandfathered accounts are removed or restricted, it could result in talented users ceasing to create content, especially as they age and face other responsibilities. As someone considering the future on the platform, I urge IMVU to consider the potential loss of talent and creativity. Once users leave due to dissatisfaction, it's unlikely they will return, leading to a diminished community and impact on the platform's long-term success.

It is worrisome to observe this trend, and I am convinced that IMVU's next step might involve removing grandfathered accounts by introducing some new and seemingly unnecessary security feature. It is already evident that they are arbitrarily placing accounts on hold without valid reasons, contradicting their initial statement about the criteria for account suspension being related to extended periods of inactivity.

This sense of uncertainty and being treated as disposable commodities is disheartening. It appears that IMVU's decisions are driven solely by their interests, and they may not fully consider the impact on users who have invested time and resources in their platform. The fear is that eventually, everyone's turn may come, and no account will be spared from such changes.

Ultimately, it underscores the fact that IMVU has complete ownership and control over the platform, leaving users feeling powerless in the face of these decisions. Our collective protests aim to highlight the need for more transparent communication, fair treatment, and consideration of the community's needs and concerns.

Well stated... This seems to be a trap set by IMVU to render grandfathered accounts useless, encouraging people to continue paying for VIP. The other features IMVU offers, such as AP and name registration, don't seem to generate any revenue. The new features they introduce appear to be irrelevant and uninteresting, like NFTs, which only benefit a few skilled individuals in 3D mesh creation. Vcoin is also too complicated for most people, as they still prefer using credits due to the ease of transfer and usability. Moreover, there's no option on the site to transfer vcoin, and even dev tokens, of which I have 250,000, are useless. IMVU seems to know only one way to make money, which is by coercing people to pay for VIP. Many users don't even bother registering their names and prefer using guest accounts because they believe IMVU has always been unfair.

must you imvuInc. people...remain finding ways to screw your costumers up...giving them headaches,problems and finding ways to make them pay even more for nonsense...I wondered why there are only 50,000 of us users left...maybe a bit more or less...but now i can see why...I wonder what it would be like when the sad day comes and everyone retires from this SCAM...welp maybe it will be vacation time for you all...whatever...this is messed up.

So here is some feedback for you all, i stopped creating i am gifting my items that are on friends wish lists, i have never sold so many items, more or my items are now being bought by new people!. iMVU are getting fees per sales. Yet when i was creating the sales where very slow so you created more imvu got the dev fees on i would go be being a sweatshop worker for the small amount of profit, and guess what now i have hardly any sales on promo creds. The whole set up is so wrong.

@Sylaraia​ yep they have but it is further down, read it all scroll down on explore, still i guess it looks real good for new investors, but the word has got out and many members are in uproar because it effects them. Less designs in shop more copies less talent and less items if they get broke are unable to be fixed because of lack of deving knowledge.
