This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.
Attention Creators - Starting July 1 Earn Money Payouts will require VIP

Vip is going to be worthless, if it is forced on people. Vip is supposed to be attractive, exclusive, nothing exclusive here will benefit me. The other thing also only a handful of people are commenting here, wait till it comes into force and devs sign in and find they cant cash their funds. Many do not use the forums because they didn't like the change from the old style. I hope you have more cs staff because you are going to need it with the amount of angry devs coming for their money. I hate to think what the shops will look like.

A solution won't be a true solution unless IMVU rolls up their sleeves to actually create from scratch a "VIP" (or whatever you want to call it) that caters only to creators.
As a grandfathered creator, VIP offers me nothing I'm interested about, apart--of course-- from the upcoming highway robbery announced at the top of this thread.
I can't believe this has to be spelled out: we do not have the same needs normal users have. I, for one, care nothing for "shinies." Never have. Will paying that fee eliminate *cough* MASA? Will it include a pay raise? Will it eliminate "promo credits," or replace it with something actually useful? Will it allow us to merge multiple grandfathered accounts into one? Etc. In other words, include most if not all the things creators have asked for since time immemorial (and that many have already asked for in this and in the other, similar thread under "Off Topic").
You know, a well-thought program that actually ameliorates the situation, instead of this out-of-the-blue, low-effort, shooting-from-the-hip, one-size-fits-all to force us to pay in order to get paid, with no other perks.
P.S. It goes without saying that this would systematically exclude those of us who earn less in a month than the cumulative VIP fee, of course. Its absurd for those of us making, say, $50 in 5 months to pay $10/mo. Unless you were to waive that fee to those whose earnings are smaller than the minimum cumulative VIP fee. Wishful thinking at this juncture, I'm afraid.
P.P.S. I have a deep antipathy towards this atrociously primitive pseudo-forum system, where I have to continuously and inefficiently click to EVENTUALLY see the whole thread. Can't you at least make it so that reaching the bottom, ugh, automatically loads the next set of posts?

I usually cashout when I reach 100 usd.
From these usd I have to remove taxes and it becomes 70 usd.
I also have to remove 10 usd of vip!
So from 100 usd I cashout 60 usd only! Less than half!

Nearly 18 years and I think out of all of the BS they have pulled on creators, this might just take the cake.
My only question now, after reading and checking on this thread every day since it's creation, is once they have forced this farce of a change upon us, will it still take a week or more for payouts to be processed? I mean, come on.
IMVU are garbage at this whole creator payment system to begin with, and now they want us to pay for privilege of being treated this way?
Just to add that I am especially furious that I am already being double taxed for being international, waiting over a week for every payout and now you want me to pay you either $15 or $30 AUD (give or take whatever the market is like, of course) a month, as well?
