This is an important update for Grandfathered Creators.
In the announcement below we stated that starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators, including Grandfathered Creators, will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to be in the Earn Money Program and receive cash payouts.
(This requirement does not affect Grandfathered Creators who are subscribed to legacy VIP (from before Tiered VIP launched).
We realize this is a huge change for many Grandfathered Creators and have been closely following feedback regarding this new policy.
Based on your valuable input, we have come up with a solution that should make it easier for affected Creators to transition.
Details are as follows:
LINKED ACCOUNTS FOR GRANDFATHERED CREATORS
Starting July 1, 2023, Creators will be able to link three Grandfathered Creator accounts together, with only one VIP subscription.
Creators will choose one Grandfathered account for their VIP subscription, and two additional Grandfathered accounts that will not need VIP.
If a Creator already pays for Platinum or Diamond VIP on a non-Grandfathered account, they can apply it to two of their Grandfathered accounts.
All three linked accounts will be eligible for the Earn Money Program and payouts.
Once the accounts are linked, new earnings from these accounts will be combined into one MASA balance. Earnings from before the accounts are linked will not be combined.
Grandfathered accounts that are grouped with a VIP account will not need to apply for the Earn Money Program as long as they have already been approved to participate in the Earn Money Program prior.
Starting August 2023, earnings from the linked accounts can be set up to funnel into the VIP account.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO LINK GRANDFATHERED ACCOUNTS
Here’s how to link a Platinum or Diamond VIP Grandfathered account with two additional accounts.
Make sure one of your Creator accounts has Platinum or Diamond VIP
Submit a help ticket to the Earn Money Program, requesting linked accounts. List an account that has VIP, and two Grandfathered accounts that do not have VIP.
If any of the linked accounts is not in the Earn Money Program, those account(s) will need to join to earn money and request a payout. All accounts will be able to apply to the Earn Money Program without a VIP subscription. However, you will not be able to earn money or request a payout until the account has a qualified VIP subscription or is linked to a Grandfathered account with a qualified VIP subscription.
Once the team receives your ticket (and your Earn Money application(s) if applicable), they will:
Check to make sure the accounts are owned by you
Confirm your Earn Money Program application has been accepted.
As soon as your accounts are approved, the team will link them together, so all three can be in the Earn Money Program with only one VIP subscription
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT - JULY ONLY
Between July 1 and July 30, Earn Money accounts with less than $50 can convert their balances into Credits. To receive Credits, send a help ticket to the Earn Money team.
Attention Creators - Starting July 1 Earn Money Payouts will require VIP
This is an important notice for Creators who are not signed up for VIP but still receive cash payouts in the Earn Money Program.
Starting July 1, 2023, all Earn Money Creators will be required to have either Platinum or Diamond VIP in order to receive cash payouts.
This does not include legacy Creators who signed up for VIP before the Tiered VIP system launched. They already have the equivalent of Platinum VIP and do not need to take any action.
CLARIFICATION:
Added 5/18/23: By "legacy Creators" we mean Grandfathered Creators. Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
When this new requirement is introduced, Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits.
Added 5/23/23 - You will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

They mentioned they weren't offering legacy anymore and that it would run out eventually when they introduced Tiered VIP - just saying they did 100% say this.

But they forget that even Studio is Desktop/laptop only. They never made a mobile creating platform so they can never truly go exclusively mobile unless they completely destroy how creating works...

You're underselling us. I'd be shocked if it wasn't 8 figures by now; especially if you count those who dumped money into badges. And yes, I'm going to beat that damn drum again - IMVU promised us those badges would be good for advertising by the fact they link up to whatever we chose, except they've never worked in the new client. How many years has it been since that happened, how many effed up projects have they done, and they can't be bothered to assign a programmer probably an hour's worth of work to fix that?

Thank you Lizzie for notifying me that IMVU attempted to stop the conversation by shifting to a new thread without notifying or posting the new thread in the old one. Truly underhanded, and a new low for a company that already has to stretch hard to scratch the underside of a snake's belly.
I've changed my mind about the proposal of shifting this conversation to social media. I don't participate in Twitter and most other forms of social media, but for this I'd be willing to make an exception. So let's take this out into the public where the tech magazines, potential new customers, investors and our representatives might see the thread and respond. Let me know if anyone starts this up so that I can create my account and fumble around something I'm unfamiliar with to participate.

What I find appalling is that IMVU apparently forgot how many thousands of dollars us Grandfathered creators have dumped into this site.. Just creating.... Iam not talking about all the little extras JUST CREATING.... Thousands and thousands of dollars I know I have dumped in here filling my catalog with products. We paid to make a profit here from the jump. Buying credits on top of credits just to pay submit fees. Until one day my catalog started paying for itself.. I will never forget the time I was so proud of myself for making that happen.. I was finally done investing to make money. I could finally breath the money was coming in bills were getting paid,, and Then WAMMY sales went down the toilet very quickly.. I funneled out all my Masa cap money until I had none left I have been barely keeping my head above water for years.. Drowning I saw my self in need of a snorkel so I had to abandon the one thing that I was so proud of not having to do.. I had to start buying credits again from time to time to dev with.. I felt so dirty doing it to as if my personal goal was a failure. But I still kept going I still kept submitting I still kept being loyal. Now we are here today.. IMVU asking me now to pay to make money and to cash that hard earned money out. After I have spent thousands already after I have kept products coming in even through the rough times. After being a loyal developer a proud developer.. Iam now a broken Developer.

These are all great ideas. VIP hasn't appealed to me for the longest time as there's nothing there I'll actually use. I'm not on IMVU 90% of the time to chat. I'm here to create.
Promo credits are indeed awful! Stop with them IMVU, please! Or at least let devs use them to create. I had at one point over 20k sitting in my account that I couldn't get rid of because IMVU makes you to pay with real credits first. I don't even want to spend them, I'd rather give people sales of actual credits. Also I'm not sure how useful dev tokens are but I've got like 17k of those things just sitting there. Checking on both my creating accounts, the submission fee is the same by the looks of it? Even though one has dev tokens and the other has none. I can't afford an AD with them and they're seemingly not doing anything about submission fees? I don't understand..
Anyway, I'd love if they gave us a VIP option that eliminated promo credits and maybe gave us the option of earning those as actual credits instead of dev tokens.

@ANDlE Well with that message you have just shown hope poor in communication customer service really is, if they can not get what is being implemented right , then how on earth do they deal with mcg, bugs and any other problem. They should have least have a update in front of them giving the right info. But they sourced cs out to lower paid countries who have limited language skills. You google anything about cs service imvu and it comes up so bad.

We have been around much longer than staff, we know this place more than anyone, the only long term member i know that knew everything was Kevin Henshaw and he has now left imvu. Which is why we should be so valuable, cs haven't got a clue when we flag something. When doing peer we know what to look for. When bugs show up we are the first to report it to make things easier for staff. Yes that's right staff we have done all this because we care, sadly it seems higher up don't get a fig and guess what staff, it is going to make your job harder, enjoy the rough ride. !!

I think you'd be hard pressed to find one that hasn't at one point paid for VIP even in recent years at least once or twice for whatever reason. That caught me off guard.
