We would like to address the valid concerns that have been raised by our community regarding the implementation of IMVU's Minimum Coverage Guidelines (MCG). We highly appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that your voices are being heard. Your input is crucial in helping us create a more inclusive and transparent environment for both creators and users.

Clarification on MCG Implementation

We understand that some users are experiencing confusion about how to implement the MCG. Specifically, there are questions about the acceptability of using an MCG opacity map (mcg) wider than the red area. We are actively working on providing more detailed guidelines and examples to clarify this aspect.

Identifying Manipulated MCG/Body

To address concerns about identifying manipulated MCG or body shapes, we are exploring ways to improve our review and flagging processes. Our goal is to make the identification of non-compliant content more accurate and transparent.

Sample Compliant Bodies

We hear your request for sample bodies that conform to the MCG rules, especially on newer mesh bodies. We are actively working on providing these examples to ensure that creators have clear guidance.

Public Understanding and Peer Review

We acknowledge the need for clearer communication during peer reviews. We are committed to providing examples of compliant bodies and exploring standardized mcg skin coverage based on body sizes to enhance clarity and understanding during the review process.

Inconsistent Enforcement

We are aware of concerns about inconsistent enforcement of MCG guidelines. We are actively working to improve our processes to ensure fair and consistent enforcement across all products.

Personal Conflict in Flagging

We take your concerns about flagging seriously and will investigate any instances of unfair flagging. We are working on creating a more transparent and impartial flagging system.

Derived Products and Ratings

We are aware of the concerns surrounding derived products and how they are rated. We will explore ways to ensure that ratings are applied fairly and consistently.

Improved Communication and Collaboration

Finally, we want to emphasize our commitment to better communication and collaboration with the creator community. We value your input and will actively seek your feedback to improve our guidelines and enforcement processes.

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these concerns. Our aim is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy IMVU while adhering to guidelines that ensure a positive and safe experience for all.

Please continue to share your thoughts and suggestions with us, as they are invaluable in shaping the future of IMVU. Together, we can make IMVU a better place for all members of our community.

Update: We have updated the MCG section of the Creator Education Center with some additional details and clarification. An anchor has been made for easy access to the updated section. Please note that we'll continue to update this page as the ongoing internal/external conversation regarding MCG continues.

@Nooni  I did not say the top was the MCG layer. I said (if)the MCG layer was a flesh tone it would violate. I really thought that was self explanatory. How ever I did load the top up with a MCG skin on and all I saw was flesh tone colors so IDK what the creator did. There were no other colors other than flesh tones that I could see. I might have been able to pin point what exactly was going on if the top was derivable but since it was not set to derive this is all on IMVU to figure out. I honestly did not even think about that top itself being a MCG layer until you just said something. Even when the MCG layer is not exposed it still cant be a flesh tone.

@JanXuan  & @Nooni  If the MCG Layer is a nude or skin color it violates MCG guidelines.

There is literally nothing wrong with it. It’s a shirt with a color… nothing provocative here

This just walked into my room, and I really thought for a moment that she was topless.

Seems to be a body paint, the product is Display only and it is called Nude.

Is this acceptable? Pid 33187610

@AnnaLuilAnnwn I think most devs are doing the same, this will be a huge hit on non ap new members, but if imvu want to stay silent and show little guidance not supplying a larger skin demo then it is their loss. They haven't heard us they have just repeated everything that was in studio. We cant make it any clearer.

The transparency of this company sheshhhh , so not one member of staff has a clue what we are asking, or they don' want to know. How do they expect meshers to create items for holidays, Nft ect if no one can give us a demo skin for the new bigger avatars. Imvu are you finding it hard to drum up enthusiasm if so it is because devs have been left in limbo............ are you even reading this blog now. How many devs have given up or are over compensating, or just making items ap.

@Saturi We need a bigger demo size skin for larger meshes thanks, if you could liaise with the creator team or pass this to higher up for clarity. Like the one in the picture thanks.Screenshot_40

With still no clear update on bigger sizes, this is hurting meshers/ devs it will follow down the chain and hurt customers, and then staff and imvu, don't forget creators keep the flow going to create income. Also i would like to point out this, i put my slider to earn cash, i have had very small amount of sales.

Last month my sales was so much bigger on earn credits only. I do not really care much if i earn ether, i have lost so much faith in this company. But i thought i would continually share input.

It seems all out hopes have a hit a brick wall. This really shouldn't take this long imvu to create maybe a demo skin coverage for larger sizes. Screenshot_39

I am with Whims on this one .... thx for communicating but where is the information that we need??? I also enlarged my MCG covers and the items that would not fit a larger MCG cover were re-rated to AP.. So is customer service looking for enlarged MCG covers on disputed Items??

My concern is if staff can't give us a clear answer, how are members suppose to do peer. Will we be passing items that should be ap or ga. This shouldn't be this hard we shouldn't be waiting this long.So far we have been waiting weeks to be told the same thing. I know it isn't saturi fault, but this is getting so frustrating.

I absolutely appreciate the efforts and communication on this issue, but these new guidelines don't seem to address the concern that sparked this discussion (and the many rerates that occurred because of it) - how do creators determine which meshes are "too manipulated"? I've been making my best guess since this issue arose - I've even expanded my base MCG opacity to attempt to ensure my designs are acceptably covered - but with the changing body shapes, large chested meshes - I was hoping for a more definitive determination for "what's too much". :(

@Saturi  All this has told us what we already knew, this hasn't given us any information about the larger type meshes, if the facts were we only had to use the given skin coverage by imvu then we would have just cracked on and developed of the larger meshes with the given skin.

So what i have just read is if you use the minimum skin coverage that is supplied on bigger sized bust it should all be ok. No other skin coverage has been provided so just filling in the red is the way forward for these.
