We know that as of late, there has been questions and confusion regarding MCG manipulation. What is acceptable? What crosses the line...etc.?
To help address this, we've created an initial Guidelines document that we hope will help.
Please give it a read and then provide us with any feedback/questions you have below - so that we may address them and continue to add to and update information that will guide your fabulous creations down the right path!

Why does it really matter ? As i rember when i signed up years ago and put in my age at 15 we went to a kids imvu so if we are all on yhe adult side of imvu whats the issue I can't see so many grown adults having such issues with a little bit of cleavage or ice skirts if you can't handle it change your age and go to the kids side. I personaly think try an item on if its not for u dont buy it . This is a game not church. And the guidelines are getting ridiculous

This isn't a matter of "opinion", it's one of facts, creators are, and always have been, WHOLLY responsible for understanding the VPG and how they operate within those guidelines, arguing they can be violated because [trends] is why we are here.
And yes, this is justified in the same universe creators have ALWAYS lived in, "an IMVU universe" as you put it, the same one that binds creators to agreements they make - if creators are arguing they not be held to account to agreements made, then IMVU has absolutely no obligation to a creator program.

Same as I am making arguments and you don't see a point in them - you see excuses, that is how I see you making arguments and finding excuses to defend IMVU and blame only creators.
It is fine, you have your opinion I have mine, and we keep on rolling with it.
It will be "justified" when people realize that creators live in an IMVU universe where IMVU is the one who is allowing or not allowing things to happen.

To answer your initial question, "yes".
If no one wants to buy those types of body that does not excuse flaunting the VGP, doing so is why creators are in the mess they are.
Not sure how many times, or different ways, this argument can be made... if creators flaunt the VPG, regardless of their justification, knowingly or not (there is no 'unknowingly' here), then creators pay the price for doing so regardless as to when or in what manner that might manifest.
And it's 'justified' in the same universe creators exist in that required they agreement to the terms of becoming creators.

So you are trying to say that if IMVU accepts mesh body, and you see hundreds of creators using body, you are seeing IMVU promoting body on IG, ADs, and showcases - you are seeing all of this happening for several years - you should still be "smarter" and skip it, spending time and creating on bodies that no one wants to buy? How can it be no "but IMVU" when all of this is happening exactly on IMVU? Why on Earth should anyone have to be "smarter" and not use "trends" to be able to earn since they clearly saw that mesh was supported/allowed and promoted by IMVU itself - for years? Problems should be solved right away, in a week, in a month - if there is a problem... You can't wait several years, watch it from a distance, and then wake up and blame people who just did what they saw as accepted. In what parallel universe this can be called a justified move?

There's no "but IMVU" here, making a "moving on" argument to justify acceptance of meshes going forward is exactly why creators are in the position they are now, based on the exact same "moving on" argument made back then. Creators can't have it both ways.

Guidelines have been in place for ages, yet all bodies were accepted by IMVU years ago. We are not talking here about bodies that were submitted and accepted a week ago. No one can tell me that IMVU was on a "vacation", not seeing products in the shop till now, so that is why they are reacting this late. We do have responsibilities as creators to follow guidelines, but when you see that some bodies have been used for years and accepted by IMVU in every way (catalog, showcases, ADs) then you can't blame everyone to start using bodies that both IMVU and customers accepted/love. Or you are ready to spend hours and days finishing your collection on some old mesh bodies just to have 10 sales in total on them, since literally, no one wants to buy creations on these bodies. It is 2023, the rules can and should change, guidelines can and should change, and if body parts are still hidden then I don't see this as a taboo issue by any means. It is time to stop thinking about how guidelines made at the beginning of IMVU should stay untouched. The world is moving on, people are moving on and so should IMVU. More realistic problems are the ones that I mention in my answer above.

@LadyBarbiee that bad actors incrementally got the community to where it is now doesn't absolve creators of the responsibilities for knowing better, especially when it comes to deriving 'bad' products just because they're 'on trend'. That this then results in the issues you raise similarly doesn't absolve creators of playing a part in that, especially as these guidelines have been in place for ages.

Yes, we are paying the price for bad actors abusing the compounding issues of a lax system, but these guidelines have always been in place, since the beginning of IMVU so there's, technically, no excuses for falling foul.
The thing is, we can point fingers at IMVU all day long, but creators are as much at fault here for flaunting the relaxed enforcement policies - that's how 'honour systems' works, *WE* are the ones who are supposed to know the VGP and how products should be rated, but over time creator after creator pushed the limits until the community is where it's at now.
As for 'grief flagging', that's a different issue that doesn't require subjectively perceived violations to abuse. With that said, having a direct line of communication with a 'support' team may work against those bad actors more than they like to think.
