I'm grandfathered, am I going to have to pay for VIP to receive my own money?
I have never purchased VIP, and taking $20 (2 accounts) out my already extremely low payout since IMVU's financial collapse for our creators is the biggest kick in the teeth.

YES- I do use the same paypal for all 10 - for tax reasons as well. I do everything by the book- I report every single penny I make and I would like just this one little break - that would be so awesome!

Damn, you maintain that many? I have others but I can only keep up with my main 2. It would be cool to link our alt's payout system though. (Less work for payout team too maybe?)

My partner is in the exact boat, he makes the minimum after several months, spending $40 for 4 months before he can take out $50 is a losing bet for him and others like him. But he relies on that $50 every few months for emergencies.
But if they allow this to be a "You have to pay the $10 only to access payouts but can still earn when you're not actively VIP" I think it'll do better for them for people who have to wait longer. Paying $10 to earn their due $50 makes more sense than paying $30-$40 to take out that minimum $50.

I also would like to point out that this is going to increase the amount of black market credit reseller websites and just credit selling in general. I hope you guys are ready to deal with the massive uptick in that, because that alone is not going to be pretty.

This is disgusting. This is nothing but pure greed.
How dare you hold my LEGITIMATELY EARNT INCOME for ransom.
Is this even legal? Making independent contractors (as we are classified for tax purposes) pay in order to receive their income??
And you're STILL going to cap our earnings with MASA?? Are you going to give us better reports? Actual customer service from people who know what they are talking about? Automated payouts? Direct bank transfer? A solution for those who can't use PayPal?
I am so disgusted and disappointed but not in the slightest bit surprised. IMVU have already proven that they don't consider us as anything but hobbyists who should be grateful for any crumb we are thrown.

I have one more question for @RigsK - if we let it lapse [say something happens and we can't pay] would the money still collect and we just can't access it?
Like say someone is in an accident so they can't pay for VIP For several months, would they be able to pay when they can and then pull their money or would they be instantly reverted to credits and not earn the money? Because that would be more fair for people not used to paying who might need to make budgeting changing to account for this irl.

Grandfathered Creators never agreed to pay to get paid (the whole concept is outrageous). It's not what we signed up for. Period.

This directly contradicts what you guys promised us grandfathered creators when you guys made the change to making creating a VIP exclusive. You promised grandfathered accounts that at no time would any part of the creation process be made VIP only. This ruling directly contradicts that.
I'm not lawyer, but I also question the legality in most countries of being able to require a subscription fee in order to receive payment for their labor. Because that's what creators are providing to IMVU, is labor. Labor that in any other setting would be worth hundreds of dollars monthly, that we are providing you for literal pennies on the dollar.
I am only able to cash out every 3 to 4 months. Having to pay in at least $10 every month, just to get $50 every 3 or 4 months is ludacris to say the least.
I understand creators are not employees of IMVU, but this definitely smells like the brewing of a class action, which I for sure would get in on.
I would urge you and the rest of the staff to tread very carefully over the next few weeks, and strongly consider not requiring grandfathered accounts to pay the VIP subscription, lest it bite you severely in the rear.

This would be a great idea especially with multiple accounts being allowed on the same Paypal - so make it so as long as they use the same Paypal they could have the same VIP.
Or like have a main account that has the VIP - but like be able to list one or two side accts that would get no VIP perks [or limited perks] but would still be allowed to take out their money. Not everyone who has more than one account makes enough for VIP.
For me right now, an extra $120 bucks is a huge hit

Will VU be making it easier for us to access financials and stuff with this change? A lot of countries will consider this a business expense and expect proper invoices and documentation from IMVU for creators to log when filing taxes and the like.

So what it comes down to is, IMVU REQUIRE you to pay for VIP to get YOUR OWN money, yeah thats about right. And they wonder why creators are leaving in droves. Wonder how the CEO is going to feel being the head of a company that has no clients. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot,

YES- I dont care to even work on them anymore but I dont want to lose the work Ive done! Hopefully they will at least TRY- finding out you are going to need to pay $10 is one thing but finding out you need to pay $100 hit different. Especially with sales already in the dumpster!
