I'm grandfathered, am I going to have to pay for VIP to receive my own money?
I have never purchased VIP, and taking $20 (2 accounts) out my already extremely low payout since IMVU's financial collapse for our creators is the biggest kick in the teeth.

Thank you for the question @Polystyrene. Starting July 1, you will not be able to earn cash or receive payouts unless you purchase Platinum or Diamond VIP. Once you join VIP you can earn cash and receive payouts. You will not lose existing cash balances. They will simply not be available without VIP.

@JanXuan I wish it was that simple- I am on cash on all my accts- we have to do our payouts from that acct- cash cant be transferred like credits can!

@HunnyHer I have no idrea about the amounts that you are talking about, but wouldn't it be an option to transfer the credits from nine accounts to one account? Then you need only 1 VIP. Or is this too simple thinking?
I don't have such a big shop and for me it is not worth having my credits paid out. I would hardly get any money left after taxes. And I do the creating as a hobby, not for a living.

@Alyissapearl you so right about that. This is not going make it better they will take another lost this not going fix their problem its just going make it worse. no point for everyone here to stay on sinking ship might way just get off and watch it sink from a distance.

I once maintained delusions of making IMVU my sole income. That fantasy was shattered both when IMVU got super uppety with promo bundle standards, and after that killed the promo bundle market, they canceled the program rather than wondering what could have possibly killed promo bundle sales (It was lack of variety because people got tired of the four total creators who could meet their standards). Now I mostly just create for fun or what many of us do - to make stuff I want.

I create for fun, so I make very little because I don't have as much time that I wish I had to do it. But, the extra 50 became essential to me to continue going even though it's a very minute amount.
It really helped for emergencies. Spending 10 just to get my 50 every few months is pathetic, though, sorry, no.

I'm sure IMVU is very aware, but nobody cares about this game without the customized content. These people who don't even get much out of if to begin with are making it happen. The amount of time people put into DEV and Creation can be incredible.
Anywhere else these people would be greatly praised for creating such a community for such a length of time, seeing as though this an actual job the gaming field pays for.

"When this new requirement is introduced, Grandfathered Creators without VIP will still be able to create, submit to their shop and earn Credits."
You only mention credits. Will we have to have VIP in order to earn cash as well as withdraw it?

I'm not denying what you're saying about those other virtual worlds, but I recently did a 3dchat search (and other similar keywords) on google and all I kept on running into are all of the old usual suspects. And I mean old. Rode with Fred Flintstone to work old. I didn't even see some of the newer ones that I know for a fact are still running about. Something is off there. What I did see is a lot of IMVU at the top of searches; way too often, in fact. If others are getting the same results with their searches, IMVU is secure. On the other hand, I've had a long and bizarre relationship with the internet where I get my own peculiar batch of gremlins.

Maybe they actually think these promo credit kids will spend money as they age but what IMVU has forgotten is the other virtual worlds out there are so far advanced that IMVU will be left in the dust. If they wanted to compete the new desktop should have been built to be accessible through Firestorm like 90% of the virtual worlds out there. The fact they're making this major change and still haven't implemented walking speaks volumes about the abilities of the developers.

Its simple really, IMVU is happy to create its own demise. Look at the amount of people online at any given time, its gone from 200k to 100k and recently you are lucky to see 60k online at any given time of the day. Kids, nothing but kids with promo credits. They have shot themselves in the foot and appear to be happy about it.
