IMVU Mobile now allows you to access rooms on the go!  Read on to learn about this new feature now available in the App Store, along with how you can purchase mobile room bundles and control the different aspects of mobile rooms.

Room Management

You now have the ability to see your Private and Public Rooms with the latest iOS update. All of the rooms you own or share on your desktop app are now seen in the new “My Rooms” category in Chat mode. You also have Room Management settings in the “My Rooms” category, along with the ability to set your room to Public or Private.

  • Private Rooms

These are all of the room shell products that you own. Private rooms can only be set to Public using a Chat Room Slot. Private rooms do not have any Room Management Settings for you to change the room name, and modify room properties. To do so, you must set the room to Public.

  • Public Rooms

These are the rooms you set to Public using a Chat Room Slot. You will see all of your Public Rooms categorized in the My Rooms category of Chat. You can also search for your Public Room by name in “All” rooms in Chat Mode of your mobile app.  You can choose to set your preferred rooms to Favorite and you’ll also find the rooms you recently visited in “Recent”. Note reverting public rooms to private will remove them from your list of rooms in the Chat Software. Public Rooms on Mobile now feature Room Management Settings like:

  • Changing the Room Name

  • Setting the language of the room

  • Setting Max Occupancy

  • Adding a Description

  • Setting the Access Controls (AP, VIP, Age Verified, Friends Only)

  • Adding Moderator(s)

Most of the Room Management Settings can only be seen when the room is set to Public. Private rooms don't have other settings (i.e., you cannot change the room name yet).

Room Management Settings

  1. Public/Private Toggle.

This toggle can be used to make your room Private or Public. Room owners can have as many Private Rooms as they want depending on the number of Room Shell Products they have, but they will need to have a Chat Room Slot to make their room Public.

  • Room Name.

Room owners can use this field to change the Room Name. This field cannot be left blank, and inappropriate names are not allowed. There is also a 255 character limit to naming your room.

  • Language. This can be used to change the Language setting of the room. Available options are:

    • Any

    • English

    • Chinese

    • Japanese

    • Korean

    • Russian

    • Spanish

    • Portuguese

    • German

    • French

    • Indonesian

    • Italian

    • Dutch

    • Turkish

    • Swedish

    • Danish

    • Arabic

    • Norwegian

    • Polish

    • Hungarian

  • Occupancy. You can change the Max occupancy for your room from 3 to 10 users.

  • Description. Room owners can add descriptions or tags in this field. It has a 255 character limit.

  • Access Controls.

Room owners can use the toggles here to only allow specific users to enter the room. Note that if you do not have VIP, Age Verification, or Access Pass, the toggle will be disabled for you. The current options are:

  • Require Access Pass

  • Require VIP

  • Age Verified

  • Friends Only (VIP feature)

Public Room Links

  • Moderators. Room owners can add or remove moderators using this setting. The Room owner also has to be friends with the user they want to have as a moderator.

There is another benefit between Private vs Public Rooms. Public Rooms have a shareable direct link to the Room. Selecting the Share Icon, and then Copy Room Link will copy the link to your phone’s clipboard and allow you to share it in messages, feed, or anywhere else!

Room Owners and Moderators now have the ability to boot other users in the Room. Please note the following:

  •   Room Owners can boot Moderators

Room owners or Moderators should be inside the 3D room when they boot users. Booting can be done in the following ways:

Click on the Profile Card of the user you want to boot. You can open these Profile Cards by tapping on a user's Profile Icon in the Chat, or when you tap on their avatar in the room. Just tap on the More options ("... ") button on the Profile Card and the Boot option will show up.

The same camera controls in Chat Rooms apply to the Room Bundle (see below). You can move between nodes to interact with the furniture. You will also be able to see the list of products inside the room.

After you make a successful Room Bundle purchase, a new tile will appear on the Private Rooms section. Once you see it, you can start using the room and inviting your friends to it.

If you have already purchased the Room Bundle, the tiles in the Dashboard and the My Rooms tab of the Chat Mode will disappear.

Mobile Room Bundles can be Accessed on the IMVU Desktop App

You will be able to see your Mobile Room bundle purchase as a room shell in your list of private rooms in the My Room section of the desktop app. You can also invite friends enjoying IMVU on any platform to join your Mobile Room bundle purchase.

Accepted Payment Methods

All payments are processed through Apple’s App Store. Apple accepts a variety of payment methods online, including debit cards, credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay.

Camera Tweaks

The new update also brought some changes in the way cameras are used in rooms:
