Ever wished you could browse through a select group of the best chat rooms in IMVU with a click of a button? Now you can with IMVU Featured Rooms! This feature will allow our users to see the best of the best rooms within each of a given set of themes: Getaways, Fantasy, Clubs & Lounges, Outdoor Fun, Homes & Offices, Seasons & Holidays, Castles & Kingdoms, Art & Fashion, Dark & Mysterious, and more! These rooms are selected by IMVU and will be showcased to the entire community.
Where'd the old Chat Rooms go?
Since IMVU Classic version 495.0 (released December 16, 2013), users are able to see a revamped Chat Rooms interface with Featured Rooms.
Where can I access Featured Rooms?
In IMVU Classic
To access the Featured Rooms, simply click on Chat Rooms and find Featured Rooms from the navigation bar on the left.
Rooms are grouped into different categories. Simply click on the Theme of your liking and all available rooms under it will appear.
The rooms sport bigger room images, allowing you to see a better preview of their content. Through this, you can also see more room info at a glance:
On the upper right hand corner is the room occupancy (0/10, 8/8, full, etc.) At the bottom part is the room name, the language specified by the owner (if available), the room owner's name, and the room's rating.
Hovering your mouse over the room picture pulls up more room info:
At the top is displayed the avatar pictures of the occupants. The “i” button at the bottom pulls up the room card, the Flag icon allows you to report the room for Terms of Service Violations, and the Go button lets you join the fun in the room!
On the IMVU Website and IMVU Desktop
Go to https://www.imvu.com/next/home/ or login to IMVU Desktop and go to “Chat”.
The “Featured Rooms” page will be shown immediately.
