Miss those days when you can customize your home pages to your heart’s content? This is what you’ve been looking for!

You can customize your IMVU homepage according to your preference. You can change the arrangement and availability of the homepage panels, header and body settings (text color and background), and you can even set your favorite page background. Here are some basics to get you started.

Note: If you are having difficulties making any of these changes, you may also try switching to a different browser.

Additionally, since Google Chrome Version 68 (release date: July 2018), the browser pushed a change that will cause problems for sites not using secure HTTP (HTTPS). Since more than half of all people in the world use Google Chrome, your homepage also has to use HTTPS to make sure it displays properly across all viewers. This has been enforced on all custom coding on IMVU.com homepages since June 6, 2018.

For your custom codes, simply change every HTTP to HTTPS. Most of these URLS will likely work --- if they do not, they will need to be changed. Unless they are updated, with HTTPS, your pages will not display correctly.

Troubleshooting Tip:

  • Do you find that the customization panels disappear even before you can successfully make changes, or the changes made do not show up on your screen? Maybe changing the colors and backgrounds only returns a blank screen for your homepage. This may be due to browser compatibility issues. You may try clearing your browser's cache (check out these instructions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge), or you may try using a different browser. You may also try going in Safe Mode before making any changes, by clicking on the Safe Mode button on the upper right hand corner of your homepage. You can always revert any changes by resetting your homepage panels in your Account Settings.

  • Want to apply the same formatting to all the panels? You may always tick the Apply this setting to all panels option to avoid having to repeat the formatting changes you made for individual panels.

  • Also, you may wish to do your own coding on your homepage by clicking on Edit custom HTML/CSS. As of the moment, we are unable to provide specific coding help for such customization concerns, but you may utilize the countless resources available over the Internet.
