Our goal with the Discover Feed is to curate and showcase images that are entertaining, diverse, fresh, positive, informative, inspiring, and encouraging. At IMVU, we are a community that welcomes every race, color, and gender. We want to ensure everyone gets a chance to participate and be featured.
But how do you get featured? Keep reading, and we’ll reveal the most important tips, along with our Discover Guidelines, which outlines content not suitable for the Discover Feed.
Important Tips
Following these expert recommendations can greatly boost the visibility of your content and significantly enhance the likelihood of your image being featured in the Discover Feed.
Tip 1: High Quality Avatar & Image
Ensuring your Avatar and image is of high quality is essential as it highlights the best aspects of IMVU. When we emphasize high-quality, we're referring to the aesthetics and overall appearance of your avatar and picture. Your photo should encompass the following:
- Optimal lighting, vibrant colors, and distinct features
- Clear, glitch-free presentation
- An engaging background that complements the theme
- Fashionable attire sourced from our extensive catalog
- High image resolution for crisp detail without pixelation
- Creative accessories like jewelry, hats, scarves, etc.
- Stylish hairstyle that enhances your avatar's look
- Proper posture and angle of the body with no disproportionate parts
Your photo can feature just you, a crush or partner, or your besties!
Tip 2: Captivating Background
Selecting the right background is crucial as it sets the tone and mood for your photo. A well-chosen background enhances the overall aesthetic and storytelling of your image. Consider snapping a picture in your favorite room or exploring one of the hundreds of thousands of themed rooms available. Don't forget to tag your location and share where you took the pic to add depth to your submission.
Tip 3: Caption & Hashtag
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a caption helps us know what you’re thinking! By adding a descriptive caption, you are telling a story, motivating us, and allowing us to experience emotion through it. Keep it short and to the point. If you’re posting for a specific campaign, don’t forget to include the hashtag in your caption!
Here are a few ideas:
- Incorporate emojis to add personality and emotion
- Utilize hashtags for ongoing campaigns
- Share a meaningful quote to convey your photo’s message
- Add an engaging caption
- Keep it short and sweet, leaving a lasting impression
Tip 4: Find Inspiration
Creativity often involves thinking outside the box and tapping into your imagination, but we understand that it can be challenging at times. That's why we encourage you to dive into any new campaigns we launch, whether it's Weekend Outfit Challenges, Discover Theme of the Day, hosted parties, or our monthly themed social events.
