How to Make a Room Public on IMVU Desktop and IMVU Website

Making a room public allows you to share it with your friends! Whether you want to host parties or just chill out, a public room is your go-to place.

Making a Room Public on IMVU Desktop and IMVU Website

Step 1. On IMVU Desktop, launch the program and log into your account.

On IMVU Website, log in here.

Having problems logging in? This can be the reason why.

Step 2. At the top part of the screen, click on Chat.

Step 3. You will be directed to another page. Click on My Rooms.

Step 4. Scroll down and go to My Public Rooms section, click on +Public Room.

NOTE: You need a Chat Room Slot to make a Room Public. To learn how to get more Chat Room Slots, check out this article

Step 5. Select a room you want to make public and click Continue.

Step 6. Edit your room settings. If you'd like your public room available to all eligible community members, you can keep your default settings and select Save


If you'd like to narrow potential visitors to Access Pass Holders, VIP Members, Age Verified users or Friends only, adjust your settings accordingly.

Step 7. To access your Public Room, click on the room you selected, then click on the Join option.

How can I make my public room private again?

To make your Room private, go to the Room Settings by tapping the gear icon, toggle the button "Make This Room Public" to the left, then click Save.
