We want to share an update regarding music services used in IMVU Classic rooms.
IMVU currently partners with Vervelife, a third party music licensing and distribution provider that supplies the music catalog used in IMVU Classic. Vervelife manages licensing with music rights holders and handles the vendor payments and legal compliance required to make this music available on the platform.
Vervelife has made the decision to discontinue support for the music services they provide. Because this service, including its licensing, infrastructure, and continued operation, is entirely owned and managed by Vervelife, this change is outside of IMVU’s control, and we do not have the ability to maintain or extend it.
We know music plays an important role in many IMVU rooms and experiences, and we understand this news may be disappointing. Our team is actively exploring alternative music solutions that could be compatible with IMVU Classic’s legacy technology.
In the meantime: • Music purchases through the Vervelife system have already been disabled. • Radio streaming remains supported on other platforms, including IMVU Web, Desktop, and Mobile. • Existing Flash radio streaming products are not expected to be affected.
We understand many of you have invested in music for your rooms, and we’re taking steps to support impacted users during this transition. We will be accommodating refunds for recent music streaming purchases where applicable. Eligible users will be contacted directly in the coming weeks with more information.
We will continue to share updates as we learn more about the timeline for this transition and evaluate possible solutions.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to make IMVU a place full of creativity, expression, and great music.

Respectfully you were probably better off not replying than giving that excuse. We literally could access our purchase music history to see exactly how many songs we purchased just as you could for any of us. At least until y'all removed the page in it's entirety.
It's not hard to calculate 612 x the amount of purchases for a total. Straight up sounds like your gaslighting at us. Not everyone is asking for a "full" refund, but at least something more than just over 1cr per song.
Out of 703 songs on this account I received a whopping refund of 640 credits. Doing the easy math of 612 x 703 my total purchase in songs is 430, 236 cr. I don't even want the 430,236cr. At least at the very least I don't think giving people 10% wouldn't hurt anything. But I mean credits are on sale every day 40-45% off and y'all are throwing in paid perks and passes now on top of it, So clearly generating cr isn't the issue since your basically giving them away now with perks.
I've been a part of vu since I was 14; over 2 decades of loyalty and spending my money into a company/service I once loved and believed in; Respectfully Y'all never looked this desperate with sales and disrespect towards not showing any kind of compassion towards your base and community. If y'all struggling as things suggest it may be wise to simply show a little bit more effort in hearing out the concerns of your base and trying to show some good will and appreciation to the people who've helped keep vu thriving and not just your wallet. Who knows maybe, just maybe that would make people want to invest or trust in spending their money into a company that's not going to screw them over or use their loyalty as one last lick before shutting down. But y'all then lost me fam.

We want to provide additional clarity around the recent music service changes.
As we mentioned in previous announcements, the music catalog which was available in IMVU Classic was provided through a third-party partner, VerveLife. As the provider of the catalog, Vervelife not only managed the licensing of music from rights holders and related legal compliance, but also provided specific software components that enabled users’ access to the service and distribution of the music. In short, Vervelife was necessary for us to provide the music catalogue feature in IMVU Classic.
We were very disappointed when we were recently informed by VerveLife that they were in the process of closing their business and ceasing operations. Due to a very short timeline that we had no control over, we had only just finalized community messaging and suggestions for how to navigate the feature deprecation (e.g. saving/documenting playlists you may have curated) when Vervelife fully discontinued its music services on Thursday, April 30.
We regret that you did not receive a longer notice period and that the abrupt nature of this change may have made an already unfortunate situation more challenging. We understand how much many of you invested into music over the years, and we recognize how frustrating this may be. We, like you, are sorry to see this service go away and are disappointed that a replacement is unavailable.
With respect to refunds for music purchased through Vervelife, the refund window we set is intended to cover recent purchases made closest to the service disruption. Without any financial assistance from VerveLife to rectify the situation for our users, however, IMVU is simply unable to provide refunds for purchases prior to October 1, 2025.
We are continuing to review feedback and understand the impact this has had across the community.
We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to share their concerns. We hear what’s being raised and understand the frustration behind it.

This is what you see now when you check your music purchases history log on your account...All our music purchases got removed.....IMVU removed them with the threats of lawsuits and people leaving the site looming.....Just when you think they wont continue spitting on us, they do it again and again...
UPDATE: Just when you thought they couldnt be any sneakier.....IMVU just removed all our music purchases logs from our accounts....Lucky I took some screenshots of my first and last pages where it would show my total pages of purchases and number of songs on each page I had bought over the years and the final total of songs I had bought as proof on the last page...I knew they would do that next and remove proof......They just removed everyones music purchase logs.....

I'm wondering if with all the taking of products with no refunds, the constant excuses of third party issues being a reason for not giving a refund, being lied to about AP originally to get you to pay for it only for them to years later give what they promised in AP as the new AP+ so they can charge again for that service but in subscription form now, the censorship, originally advertising as an adult chat client and then letting all these kids in, and now everything with the music and all the money take/stolen from that, and thats not even all they've done, would have basis for a lawsuit...hmmm. There are enough of us to look into this, there are other companies that didn't get away with less than this.

Reading the comments from Pamela and KynleeLyn makes me cry and feel sorry for them. I too have lost music that meant a lot to me. Is IMVU heartless that they don't feel the slightest bit of compassion for their customers? I will not be buying anything from IMVU either..... I will not support this!

I lost all my themed music I worked hard on for years..all that time invested making each and every mix....specialty mixes...Birthday mixes, Christmas and halloween mixes, Memorial mixes for my dear friends who passed away here...themed mixes for certain days we would have in our rooms...ALL GONE !!!...ALL GONE !!! All that time and work invested wasted....all that money stolen from us....IMVU has now completely lost the reason to stay on here....WE DO NOT WANT RADIO STATIONS OR STREAMING OR ANY OTHER CRAP...Its robotic and boring and we have no control over it...Our mixes were special to us...They were the topic of conversation, you could see the song and artist titles that were playing in the room and look it up and talk about it...It was our individuality and our own uniqueness...The mixes were our identity !!!! It made each of us original...and on top of what they already did to us, they spit in our faces and insult us by offering us worthless credits which cost them NOTHING..and only since October of 2025 purchases which is even more insane..and they think we are going to accept this????I know I will NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME ON THIS WEBSITE AND NEITHER ARE ANY OF MY FRIENDS....They deserve to go out of business after doing this to us....and the way they treat us like garbage...They had over a year to figure out a way to save our mixes and get another music provider and they did absolutely NOTHING....Now they want to try to fix the cancer they gave us with a band-aid...Its not going to fly IMVU !!!!! I feel like no matter how hard we fight for this platform, we're not heard. IMVU takes takes takes. I understand this was a 3rd party situation but IMVU also says this when you buy from certain creators, bundles, or badges. If we don't receive what we bought or IMVU side makes a mistake, it's not on them it's on us and we lose out. We don't get refunded for all they take either, we get blamed for that too. We have things taken that shouldn't be. We have to pay subscriptions for things we were promised when we originally bought and proved what we needed to. WE are why you still have a place of business. WE are why you still have a job and paycheck. Without US, IMVU would not exist yet you keep pushing us away. You will NEVER last with just Desktop and Mobile. Too many of us prefer classic to those things. So many talk about getting a lawyer, which lets face it a lawyer would have a field day with this company and yall already got sued once, but that doesn't phase you either. I had over 54 pages of music. Would you like to do that math? I just bought music during the holidays and for a wedding yet I've not received a message about refunds at all and probably won't. That'll be another thing you make out to not be your problem. We weren't even warned ahead of time that anything was going on. We're sick of this crap. What is the point of these forums if you don't really want to listen to those that pump money into your business? SMH.

Reading the comments from Pamela and KynleeLyn makes me cry and feel sorry for them. I too have lost music that meant a lot to me. Is IMVU heartless that they don't feel the slightest bit of compassion for their customers? I will not be buying anything from IMVU either..... I will not support this!

I lost all my themed music I worked hard on for years..all that time invested making each and every mix....specialty mixes...Birthday mixes, Christmas and halloween mixes, Memorial mixes for my dear friends who passed away here...themed mixes for certain days we would have in our rooms...ALL GONE !!!...ALL GONE !!! All that time and work invested wasted....all that money stolen from us....IMVU has now completely lost the reason to stay on here....WE DO NOT WANT RADIO STATIONS OR STREAMING OR ANY OTHER CRAP...Its robotic and boring and we have no control over it...Our mixes were special to us...They were the topic of conversation, you could see the song and artist titles that were playing in the room and look it up and talk about it...It was our individuality and our own uniqueness...The mixes were our identity !!!! It made each of us original...and on top of what they already did to us, they spit in our faces and insult us by offering us worthless credits which cost them NOTHING..and only since October of 2025 purchases which is even more insane..and they think we are going to accept this????I know I will NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME ON THIS WEBSITE AND NEITHER ARE ANY OF MY FRIENDS....They deserve to go out of business after doing this to us....and the way they treat us like garbage...They had over a year to figure out a way to save our mixes and get another music provider and they did absolutely NOTHING....Now they want to try to fix the cancer they gave us with a band-aid...Its not going to fly IMVU !!!!! You have some nerve and gall..We better all be refunded every single cent we all paid for our music...MONEY, NOT CREDITS !!!!!!...What you did to us is insane and you should be ashamed of yourselves treating your loyal customers like this...How do you even have the nerve to keep taking money from people on this website???? You even kept taking our money when you knew that you were going to lose all the music yet kept accepting our money without even warning us we were about to lose it all.....SNEAKY AND COWARDLY...AND CRIMINAL....

i have been buying music since 2013 they were all working fine the other day now they do not, an have been removed, i wanna know WTF is going on an if you are planning on re-embusing me for ALL the hundreds of songs an several mixs that have been taken ? i didnt spend hundreds ontop of hundreds of RL USD $$$$$ to have them removed an not re-imbursed for em im livid about this an now they say there not available in my area an i live in the US in Tennessee an ive have used all my music mixs as long as ive been here & thats been years. this is not ok an i will not use some jacked up streaming site an i dont do the rediculis live streaming dj crap i dont like there music , i bought the music i liked an each mix fit the rooms i made, i want my mixs back or my money back there is no exceptions, i will not be renewing my vip an will stop createn as well, i will not spend another dime on this site till the wrong has been righted there was never any warning posted to all about this bs take down an from what im reading you are not even refunding in RL credits in the amount ppl have spend this bs an im pissed, at least second life refunds you for everything you spend dont think for one second i wont leave imvu an go back to second life an take my family with me an all of my family all 63 of them wont hesitate to drop imvu an go head to second life again, imvu you owe me well over 800k in credits since 2013 you still owe me for music you took back in 2008 an never re-imbursed after the crash that also caused my acct to be corrupted an was never properly fixed forcing me to make a new acct an lose everything in my shop an sent out memos to everyone you were going to re-imburse an i never seen any of it

I feel like no matter how hard we fight for this platform, we're not heard. IMVU takes takes takes. I understand this was a 3rd party situation but IMVU also says this when you buy from certain creators, bundles, or badges. If we don't receive what we bought or IMVU side makes a mistake, it's not on them it's on us and we lose out. We don't get refunded for all they take either, we get blamed for that too. We have things taken that shouldn't be. We have to pay subscriptions for things we were promised when we originally bought and proved what we needed to. WE are why you still have a place of business. WE are why you still have a job and paycheck. Without US, IMVU would not exist yet you keep pushing us away. You will NEVER last with just Desktop and Mobile. Too many of us prefer classic to those things. So many talk about getting a lawyer, which lets face it a lawyer would have a field day with this company and yall already got sued once, but that doesn't phase you either. I had over 54 pages of music. Would you like to do that math? I just bought music during the holidays and for a wedding yet I've not received a message about refunds at all and probably won't. That'll be another thing you make out to not be your problem. We weren't even warned ahead of time that anything was going on. We're sick of this crap. What is the point of these forums if you don't really want to listen to those that pump money into your business? SMH.
