We want to share an update regarding music services used in IMVU Classic rooms.
IMVU currently partners with Vervelife, a third party music licensing and distribution provider that supplies the music catalog used in IMVU Classic. Vervelife manages licensing with music rights holders and handles the vendor payments and legal compliance required to make this music available on the platform.
Vervelife has made the decision to discontinue support for the music services they provide. Because this service, including its licensing, infrastructure, and continued operation, is entirely owned and managed by Vervelife, this change is outside of IMVU’s control, and we do not have the ability to maintain or extend it.
We know music plays an important role in many IMVU rooms and experiences, and we understand this news may be disappointing. Our team is actively exploring alternative music solutions that could be compatible with IMVU Classic’s legacy technology.
In the meantime: • Music purchases through the Vervelife system have already been disabled. • Radio streaming remains supported on other platforms, including IMVU Web, Desktop, and Mobile. • Existing Flash radio streaming products are not expected to be affected.
We understand many of you have invested in music for your rooms, and we’re taking steps to support impacted users during this transition. We will be accommodating refunds for recent music streaming purchases where applicable. Eligible users will be contacted directly in the coming weeks with more information.
We will continue to share updates as we learn more about the timeline for this transition and evaluate possible solutions.

@Bammcrime Lawyers have been contacted and was told we have a definite cut and dry case.They have to do either one of 2 things....They only have 2 choices here...The first one is for IMVU to go back to that music provider Verve Life and get every single record and back files they have of each and every members music, songs and mixes and then they would need to figure out how in some way or form to give those all back to us in some kind of way they come up with on here.If they cannot get our music and mixes back they only have one other option, and this is to REFUND EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US EVERY SINGLE PENNY WE ALL HAVE SPENT HERE OVER THE YEARS ON MUSIC WE ALL BOUGHT...ACTUAL MONEY NOT..AND I REPEAT ..NOT IMVU CREDITS....THEY NEED TO REFUND US MONEY, NOT THEIR CREDITS WHICH COST THEM ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.WE BOUGHT THE MUSIC WITH CREDITS WHICH WE FIRST HAD TO PAY MONEY FOR TO GET THOSE CREDITS, SO WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL BY NOT ONLY FIRST ONLY OFFERING REFUNDS ON PURCHASES MADE SINCE OCTOBER OF 2025 AND THEN THEY ARE DOUBLING DOWN WHAT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO BY ONLY TRYING TO REFUND CREDITS AND NOT ACTUAL MONEY . I am posting on social medias of IMVU that they are scammers and thieves and explain why. That they sell you something then take it away and dont give your money back. On official IMVU acebook for example. They keep deleting it i keep posting that i want my money back for the purchased items ( music) that i payed for and they just deleted it like it never existed we all need to post this on all their social medias. Maybe less people will join or think twice before spending money. I wont spend a dime anymore on here and advice everyone member or thinking of joining NOT to joun or spend money on IMVU

Last time I'm going to say this. Complaints in house stay in house. If you want action take all these complaints and post them on the net and make formal complaints to FTC under online consumer fraud. The official link to the FTC was posted here along with directions of how to compose your complaint. Alerting other potential money to the site of the unfairness and callus way the consumer was victimized here will get the attention we all want. POSTING IN THIS THREAD WON'T HELP YOU. But if over 100 complaints land on the desk of a agent at the FTC and lawyer you will get some action from IMVU. There is strength in numbers. There is also strength in posting online especially if it goes viral. Would not surprise me if staff is not posting to get a good laugh.

I am writing to express serious concern regarding the recent removal of music tracks that many users, including myself, have purchased over the years through your platform.
These purchases were made with the understanding that we would retain access to the content we paid for. The sudden removal of these items without clear communication, compensation, or a viable alternative raises significant issues around fairness, transparency, and consumer trust.
As paying customers, we expect accountability. At a minimum, we request:
A clear explanation for the removal of previously purchased music content
Transparency regarding any licensing or policy changes that led to this decision
Appropriate reimbursement or account credit reflecting the full value of the affected purchases
If these concerns are not addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner, many users may be forced to explore formal options to protect their consumer rights, including collective legal action.
We hope IMVU will take this matter seriously and work toward a fair resolution that respects its user community.

So what about all the credits and money that many of us have spent purchasing music tracks on IMVU? Now that the music feature has been disabled, will users be receiving any form of refund or compensation for those purchases?
And what about the music players themselves that we purchased specifically to use with those tracks? Are we expected to simply lose the value of those purchases without any reimbursement?
It is disappointing to see a feature that many users invested heavily in being removed, while those same users are left bearing the cost. As a community, we would like to know how IMVU plans to address the money and credits that were spent in good faith on content and products that are no longer functional as intended.
IMVU's success comes from its users. Decisions like these should prioritize player satisfaction and fairness, not simply profitability. We hope IMVU will seriously consider compensating affected users and providing a clear explanation of how these purchases will be handled moving forward.

There are ways that IMVU could technically update Classic to provide a model for music - BUT the reality is they won't because are trying desperately to find any reason they can to phase out Classic and push people to use Next/Desktop and Mobile platforms because they are dictating to that sector. Notice how they had their music streaming in place on those platforms before they pulled the plug on Classic? This is strategic on their part - they weren't left with their pants down by a 3rd party vendor. This is the most mismanaged platform -- their only incentive is profit and it shows in everything they do.

@Bammcrime and Any other concerned party about your refund. When this thread first hit there was a link posted by staff to click on if you wanted a refund from Oct till present. I can't find that link anymore so I'm assuming they removed it. along with any hope of getting any kind of refund unless legally forced to do so. The chances of getting a refund posting and asking in this thread is as good as finding a chicken with a full set of teeth.

all this arguing will do nothing or get imvu's attention....if you people really want to teach imvu a lesson and want to show them that they need to care more for the customers and not treat them like trash, you all need to boycott imvu and by boycott I mean stop spending a single dime or giving them money, that is the only thing which will hit them and they will listen to you, otherwise even if you keep taking and complaining for 100 years it s useless and just waste of time.

I want ALL my songs back and all my Mixes back that I paid for in full !!! If you are not planning on putting our music back than I want a full refund of everything I bought over the years or else I will be contacting a lawyer and filing a class A lawsuit along with hundred of other members who also had their music stolen from you..I had 185 pages of songs....25 songs on each page..which equals 4625 total songs...that comes out to over 3 million credits total spent on their music..each song roughly costs 70 cents...(649 credits) That means I spent $3235.00 total on my music....You people are now offering me a few thousand credits...Are you kidding me here??? what a joke..I paid You over $3,000 total for my music and songs over the past 12 years and you left me with nothing but an offer of some measley few thousand credits...Talk about spitting in my face...And you think you are just going to get away with this?When do you plan on paying me back my $3235 dollars?????

However, There certainly can and should be made public to everyone who thinks they may be part of the class Information readily available of who to contact to have their issue considered. In short the information needs to be in other places besides involuntarily contributing to a affiliate program to get info off DC.
