We want to share an update regarding music services used in IMVU Classic rooms.
IMVU currently partners with Vervelife, a third party music licensing and distribution provider that supplies the music catalog used in IMVU Classic. Vervelife manages licensing with music rights holders and handles the vendor payments and legal compliance required to make this music available on the platform.
Vervelife has made the decision to discontinue support for the music services they provide. Because this service, including its licensing, infrastructure, and continued operation, is entirely owned and managed by Vervelife, this change is outside of IMVU’s control, and we do not have the ability to maintain or extend it.
We know music plays an important role in many IMVU rooms and experiences, and we understand this news may be disappointing. Our team is actively exploring alternative music solutions that could be compatible with IMVU Classic’s legacy technology.
In the meantime: • Music purchases through the Vervelife system have already been disabled. • Radio streaming remains supported on other platforms, including IMVU Web, Desktop, and Mobile. • Existing Flash radio streaming products are not expected to be affected.
We understand many of you have invested in music for your rooms, and we’re taking steps to support impacted users during this transition. We will be accommodating refunds for recent music streaming purchases where applicable. Eligible users will be contacted directly in the coming weeks with more information.
We will continue to share updates as we learn more about the timeline for this transition and evaluate possible solutions.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to make IMVU a place full of creativity, expression, and great music.

IMVU, I'm getting really fed up with the attitude that IMVU can do no wrong and that every problem is somehow someone else's fault.
Let's talk about the music situation. IMVU told the community that Vervelife, the third-party music licensing and distribution provider used for IMVU Classic, decided to discontinue its music services. IMVU's explanation is that the licensing, infrastructure, and continued operation were owned and managed by Vervelife and therefore the change was outside of IMVU's control.
Okay, but what about the users who were affected?
People invested time making mixes, credits, and effort into their rooms and experiences around music. Some accounts were hit far harder than others. I personally only had a few mixes, but I've seen accounts in this community that lost a significant amount of their music content. And what did many of those people get? An explanation pointing to Vervelife.
That's the problem. Stop blaming everyone else and start taking responsibility for the impact your platform decisions have on your community you did take peoples money.
And now we have creator products being removed with generic explanations that they were “improperly rated.” If a creator follows IMVU's own AP rating system, then IMVU needs to explain exactly why that rating supposedly wasn't correct instead of simply removing the product and acting like the decision is automatically unquestionable. That only means apparently the IMVU mods can't even read the TOS think everything is GA i guess. Go back to school.
Creators are expected to follow IMVU's rules to the letter. Yet when IMVU makes a decision that hurts creators, suddenly there's another company, another policy, another explanation, or another reason why IMVU supposedly isn't responsible.
Enough.
You built the platform. You established the policies. You chose the systems and partnerships that creators rely on. You don't get to demand accountability from creators while refusing to show the same accountability yourselves.
Nobody is asking IMVU to be perfect. We're asking you to admit when something goes wrong, explain your decisions honestly, compensate people when appropriate, and actually listen to the community instead of talking down to us.
You're not above criticism. You're not automatically right because you're IMVU.
Power and authority don't make an organization infallible. Eventually, even the mighty can be knocked down a notch when they refuse to listen, refuse to take accountability, and continue treating their own decisions as unquestionable.
Stop acting high and mighty. Start listening. Start taking accountability. And most importantly, start following the same standards you expect from the people who keep your platform alive.

They took me money ohhhhh and thats fucked up ohhhh but they dont care ohhhhh just remember if a NYS resident the law is on your side for these shady ass companies There is also New York GBL § 350, which prohibits false advertising. This could become relevant if IMVU represented music as a purchase, MP3, download, or other lasting product while failing to adequately disclose a material limitation on what was actually being purchased. New York's §350-e permits an injured consumer to seek actual damages or $500, whichever is greater, and potentially increased damages for a knowing/willful violation. Whether IMVU's particular sales screens meet that standard would depend on exactly what they said when you bought the songs.

Finally found the law firm that sued Big Fish and won. The firm name is Edelson PC they are out of Seattle and the address is 350 N. La Salle Street 14th floor. One of the lawyers there is Brandet I think he was lead on the Big fish suit. It would certainly be worth our while to touch base just to see if interested representing the group.

Honestly, i think this calls for a lawsuit. I put a lot of money into the music i bought they refuse to refund me a dime Lawsuit needs to be filed against them that is for sure. If anyone knows, one, please let me know ill join in. This is ridiculous all the money they make they can't refund us our hard spent money back they basically stole money from us basically theft. They need to refund everyone at this point just not after a specific time. I think that not even justified. I'm angry with them stealing after spending a lot of money here. .

I'm so mad and upset about what is going on here in IMVU. Like most of you I've been a VIP for 16 yrs without skipping a beat. I've spent extra money on Credit purchases $$$ ... I've been away this summer but when I returned all my Music Mixes were GONE and a new Radio streamer put in its place. I read the info imvu provided to load Radio and click play is not working to load any station. So now Im really mad. Others have tried to help with no avail. I feel like I've been ripped off by imvu and hate that after all these years I may give up VIP. You really dont get much for being VIP anyway... Lately I've been hanging out in YoWorld and telling friends to come to imvu but now after being treated like dirt > Ill never promote this place. My avatar name in YoWorld is 1 RozOBabyIN
