We want to share an update regarding music services used in IMVU Classic rooms.
IMVU currently partners with Vervelife, a third party music licensing and distribution provider that supplies the music catalog used in IMVU Classic. Vervelife manages licensing with music rights holders and handles the vendor payments and legal compliance required to make this music available on the platform.
Vervelife has made the decision to discontinue support for the music services they provide. Because this service, including its licensing, infrastructure, and continued operation, is entirely owned and managed by Vervelife, this change is outside of IMVU’s control, and we do not have the ability to maintain or extend it.
We know music plays an important role in many IMVU rooms and experiences, and we understand this news may be disappointing. Our team is actively exploring alternative music solutions that could be compatible with IMVU Classic’s legacy technology.
In the meantime: • Music purchases through the Vervelife system have already been disabled. • Radio streaming remains supported on other platforms, including IMVU Web, Desktop, and Mobile. • Existing Flash radio streaming products are not expected to be affected.
We understand many of you have invested in music for your rooms, and we’re taking steps to support impacted users during this transition. We will be accommodating refunds for recent music streaming purchases where applicable. Eligible users will be contacted directly in the coming weeks with more information.
We will continue to share updates as we learn more about the timeline for this transition and evaluate possible solutions.
Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to make IMVU a place full of creativity, expression, and great music.

When I submit a "complaint" to CS I continue to get this as a response ...
"We understand this may be disappointing, especially for users who have invested in music for their rooms. Refunds are currently limited to music purchases made on or after October 1, 2025. This cutoff was put in place to ensure a consistent and fair approach across all accounts as part of retiring the service.
We recognize this may not cover all past purchases and may not fully reflect your overall experience with the feature. While we’re not able to extend refunds beyond this period, please know that your feedback is important, has been noted, and will be shared with the team."
WHO made this decision? How is this "fair" to those of us who have been purchasing from your store for years?

I have been on IMVU 18 year and last night there was only 28k people on at most, and this website used t over 200k people , WOW, IMVU, you really shot yourselves in the foot for being so greedy, I hope your board of directors ask the owner lots of hard questions but then maybe, you planned on doing this, its pathetic

You took away our music and you didn't give us a refund? you do know this is called theft right? you want to hear my suggestion? instead of radio stream, why don't you add a YouTube tab on IMVU Classic client or why don't you add a music tab where we can upload our MP3 music?

Last night I came on for a bit.....It was a Saturday night....There were 28,000 people on....Years ago there used to be well over 100,000 people on here for a Saturday night..Years before that we sometimes got close to 200,000 people on...The Mass Exodus has begun IMVU....LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO YOUR OWN WEBSITE IMVU !!!!....The members are speaking loud and clear about the abuse you heap on us and this theft of our music probably is the final straw....How much more are we supposed to continue to take before we finally leave? And as you can see..THEY ARE LEAVING AND FAST...And the few people that do end up staying will NEVER buy another item from this websites store ever again...which will then make the creators leave which is sad...The creators dont deserve to have this happen to them but its going to happen because everyone I know refuses to spend another dime on here after you stole our money by taking away our music and mixes....AND YOU CAUSED THIS CHAIN REACTION IMVU....We didnt pay Vervelife..WE PAID YOU.....YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE...And then to be sneaky on top of that to take down our music purchase history from all of our accounts on top of what you had already done...What gall and nerve !!!!!...And I think you know whats coming next legally...

Ok and when i googled Verlife i've seen they already stopped busines with partners back in 2024 because of quiting in the near future. so... 2 years it was already known that they would quit soon.. Whats your excuse now again ? You didnt get the memo ?? DONT MAKE ME LAUGH !! You just want to get rid of the client ( classic ) without spending a dime and you just push people away untill there is hardly anyone left on there. and then say. oh yea.. we gonna delete the client. because there are hardly people on their anyways. Download beta next bla bla bla. Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO predictable and transparent to see. WHY dont you just say that and admit it. But NOOOOOOOOO you want to squeze more money out of the classic client and its people as long as possible ... keep letting people but things on there ( like music ) spend money and then POOF its gone. Well the good thing is,, probably someone was fired for not deleting the purchases logs from the website. They totally forgot about that one when they deleted the whole music store and inventory from our pages so we cant proof anything. It wasnt for Satori coming back on this post to answer where he saw a lot of us post screenshots of it..and he was like.. well sh!t. we forgot it was listed there too..DELETE IT ! NOW !!! than right that day a few minutes after he posted another comment POOF it was gone . it is clear as glass that it was all done on purpose. So you make a post saying make a screenshot and send it to us. and then you yourself make it totally impossible to make a screenshot of it because you yourself deleted it quick after ff-ing up. Seriously ??? How old are you ? Like 5 or something ?? You think we are all idiots or something ? Some of us made the screenshots already. Because we knew you people would do this like real maffia conmen. I hope your mom and wife and kids are proud of you all.. Liars and thieves and cons.. I have made all the screenshots and saved them. Including my acc. name at the top etc ( this shot doesnt have it because i dont want to reveil my credit and promo amount. but trust me the ones i have on my comp do. ) . So tell me where to get my refunds ?? And i mean money. You cant sell me a car and then years later just take away the car without telling me and not giving my money back just because one of your dealerships and partners closed their business. Some People spent $1000's On Music Here, o____O
I only bought little over 10 Maybe 20 Songs at most, for several reasons:
1.) They've had a rocky start with Music & they are in-consistent with legality around it... 2.) The Music Store Had Such Over Priced Songs 3.) They Barely If Ever Produced Any Real Songs.
Soooo, I Had Trouble Finding Songs On A Risky Spent Platform, Where I Had To Pay High Costs On Something Not Even Handled Correctly On Licensing, Which the process of any real Refund was basically here is a few Credits, get lost brain thought process, ~____~
Yaaaahh, Now You Know Why I Have Just Like 20 Songs, ~____~
Why I Didn't Pay For Like $1000's Over This...
Especially With How They Treat Their Customers, ~____~
On A Side Note, I Want People To Understand, Licensing Has Been A Problem For Many Companies, Even Rockstar Games On Many Occasions Over Situations...
Soooo, Whatever It Is ?? I Don't Hate Them On This...
But I Flat Out Refuse To Use The Radio For Music, They Need Another Idea, Something Better, Something A Little More Long Term Solution Wise, Or Don't Support Being Able To Have Music At All...

Deleting the Song Purchase logs does no good when most of us, if not all of us, were smart enough to take a screen shot of it before hand. You know you're in the wrong, now correct your mistakes and move on.
I guess after 90 comments, complaints and threats of no more purchase that imvu are not even going to bother replying or even acknowledge that they are in the wrong . I remain disgusted and thoughly disapointed that imvu, after 22 years of existence can treat it's highest spenders and promoters in this fashion .I confirm that the credits i have ready to spend and any future VIP credits will not be used in any purchases . imvu have the gall to say they are giving us access to radio which we allready can use without imvu's permission , we just use a seperate url and window to hear any radio station in the world .in my rooms now I have just to post the url in chat and everyone can use that radio .I as a singer/musician can stream mine and others recordings to a youtube or mp3 player installed in my rooms .But the music bought for in * imvu music * was purchsed in good faith but has now become under law Not Fit For Purpose and liable to small claims court .I hope that imvu see sense and either re-install our music or recompense us .EJK

Why would y'all get rid of the Music Purchase logs too? It's already bad enough that the music store is pretty much a thing of the past now because y'all couldn't maintain a relationship with the music provider but y'all want to erase all tracings of it ever existing too? What sense does that make? Seriously.

Having only been a member over the past two years and having music to play from my own selected purchases was really nice to be able to attain. This allowed each person to be able to play in any room that we choose. I feel it was unfair to take the purchases away since they were purchased! Just like purchasing clothing / outfits / chat rooms etc. If any of those designers left or cancelled their Accounts on IMVU we did not lose what we purchased. it just became unavailable for anyone else to purchase. I do not understand why a purchased item like our music selections had to be removed, The company that the agreement was with got their money from our purchases already and yet we lose the music. I hope that you can find a replacement service and reconcile this situation. Music is a part of our life everywhere. and added to the enjoyment of IMVU. This negativity with a platform to express the issue was needed to express the concern
Export these logs as xml files (max. 1.000 entries for 1 export) and import/open them in MS Excel to find all your purcheses from the music store in the past.

I have been on IMVU for 18 years and at one time had a group called the Ichiban Jpop Kurabu, with over 7 thousand members. Our whole thing was about the music, at the time there were thousands of people who were into ANIME groups and chat rooms, We opened up the first ASIAN music chat room on imvu featuring a first just Japanese music but expanded it to all ASIAN music and I had the most extensive ASIAN music library including Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean music ,.,all that is gone thanks to IMVU'S messing up their relationship with the music company , i am not even sure why i am writing this cause i know IMVU will probably quietly scrub all these complaints like they scrubbed the 65 pages of music data which showed all my purchases of music,, If i had known that IMVU could take away the music at any time they wished i would have never bought or spent thousands of dollars on music, I have decided i will no longer spend a penny on this website, for all i know they will take away all our purchases again in the future. If anyone is doing a class action law suit, i can not afford a lawyer but i will happily provide a statement about how i lost thousands of dollars of music. IMVU has messed up badly in the past and they stepped into this big time. I am on IMVU for my friends and no longer need to spend any more money on credits or anything else and they can keep their promo credits which are not worth spit. I may not leave this platform causes i am here for my friends only and will not spend another dollar on this website, this AND ALL the other messages will probably be scrubbed soon anyway,,, how typically IMVU.

You can still list your purchases in the music store if you're a creator. In this case you can use the credit balance event log: https://de.imvu.com/catalog/developer_report.php?reporttype=balancelog
Export these logs as xml files (max. 1.000 entries for 1 export) and import/open them in MS Excel to find all your purcheses from the music store in the past.
