We want to share an update regarding music services used in IMVU Classic rooms.
IMVU currently partners with Vervelife, a third party music licensing and distribution provider that supplies the music catalog used in IMVU Classic. Vervelife manages licensing with music rights holders and handles the vendor payments and legal compliance required to make this music available on the platform.
Vervelife has made the decision to discontinue support for the music services they provide. Because this service, including its licensing, infrastructure, and continued operation, is entirely owned and managed by Vervelife, this change is outside of IMVU’s control, and we do not have the ability to maintain or extend it.
We know music plays an important role in many IMVU rooms and experiences, and we understand this news may be disappointing. Our team is actively exploring alternative music solutions that could be compatible with IMVU Classic’s legacy technology.
In the meantime: • Music purchases through the Vervelife system have already been disabled. • Radio streaming remains supported on other platforms, including IMVU Web, Desktop, and Mobile. • Existing Flash radio streaming products are not expected to be affected.
We understand many of you have invested in music for your rooms, and we’re taking steps to support impacted users during this transition. We will be accommodating refunds for recent music streaming purchases where applicable. Eligible users will be contacted directly in the coming weeks with more information.
We will continue to share updates as we learn more about the timeline for this transition and evaluate possible solutions.

I agree with Kitana, since customized radio streaming where you want a choice to listen to your favourite songs are costly. I agree with having a Youtube Player or MP3 Player on IMVU Classic Client. But the sad thing is on IMVU Desktop Version they removed YouTube player, I checked earlier.

What I don't understand is... why don't you add a YouTube tab on classic client or MP3 tab on classic client? so we can listen the songs we want to listen, since me and my mother run a Kingdom in the roleplay world in IMVU. We're now missing our music. Radio streaming is not good because they're all costly and I don't like paying for Radio streaming.

Long-Time Creator & User Concerns About IMVU’s Direction
I’ve been on IMVU for over 18 years. Maybe not on this account specifically, but I’ve invested nearly two decades into this platform—as a user, creator, and customer. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the years supporting IMVU, and I’m writing because many long-time members feel ignored.
One of the biggest current issues is music. We’ve dealt with this before when music content disappeared years ago, and now it feels like history is repeating itself. Users are reporting music endlessly loading or not working at all. Many of us paid real money and credits for music through IMVU, yet now there’s no clear way to prove ownership because even the music tabs and records of purchases have changed or disappeared.
Rooms without music lose activity. People don’t stay. Music creates atmosphere, and without it, room owners and creators receive complaints from visitors about products they purchased that no longer function as expected. As creators, our names are attached to those products even when platform changes break them.
This isn’t only about music. It’s about a larger pattern of control over creators and users:
Features are removed or changed without adequate transparency.
Older products stop functioning due to platform decisions.
Creator payout requirements and Diamond/VIP expectations are not always clearly communicated.
Earnings and credits feel heavily controlled despite creators generating income for the platform.
Support options have become increasingly limited; many of us remember when we could speak with actual representatives.
Forum concerns often feel dismissed, redirected, or closed rather than addressed.
Creators and buyers built this platform. Without creators producing content and users purchasing it, IMVU would not be what it is today. Long-time members increasingly compare IMVU to other virtual worlds because they feel unheard.
I’m also concerned about the overall direction of the platform. The content environment appears far more adult-focused than in earlier years, while moderation standards seem inconsistent compared to how accounts were treated in the past. This creates confusion about expectations and community standards.
Many veteran users have noticed lower engagement and fewer active users than years ago. Whether that perception is accurate or not, it reflects a concern: people leave when they no longer feel valued.
I’m asking IMVU to genuinely listen to long-term members and creators regarding:
Transparency about purchased music and unavailable content
Better communication before major platform changes
Fair treatment and support for creators
Improved payout clarity and creator policies
Stronger customer support options
Consistent moderation and clearer standards
More consideration for preserving creator products and investments
I’m frustrated because I care about this platform. I’ve spent years creating, buying, and contributing here. Long-time users want IMVU to succeed—but success requires listening to the people who helped build the community.

@Bammcrime..I could not agree with you more...You hit it right on the head..100%..THESE PEOPLE KILLED THIS WEBSITE DOING THIS !!!! The music and our mixes were the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS SITE...They dont seem to get that..I cant have birthday parties for friends anymore, because all of my birthday mixes are gone...all my holiday mixes and our Christmas parties, Halloween parties, themed parties we loved having like 60's or 70's parties,ALL THAT IS GONE !!!!! And of course my most important mixes, mixes I made when dear friends of ours passed away that were members and friends on IMVU and when they died I made remembrance mixes in honor of them,THEY ARE NOW ALL GONE......They think putting in radios and any other crap is going to satisfy us???NO IT ISNT IMVU...AS @Bammcrime just stated...GIVE US OUR DAMN MUSIC WE PAID FOR BACK AND OUR MIXES BACK THE WAY THEY WERE !!!!! This website is not even worth using anymore without that..WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO WISE UP AND REALIZE THIS????? So you can not listen to your fav music because its a radio station that decides what songs are going to play so it is NOT MY fav music. and NO you can not listen to music with everyone because its only for windows computers. I can not host an event with theme and themed music because i can NOT play MY music. The links dont even work on that player SMH and when i did find one that worked it was stupid music with a lot commercials and i was the only one that heard it !!!!!! No one else could joing in it didnt work for them. SO THEY LEFT the room. Now my rooms are EMPTY ! People always complimented me for my mysic i had tons ! something for everyone. They even asked me to park and put my mixes on when i had to leave imvu to go sleep or whatever. So i parked in a DJ booth spot and put a few mixes on with like 150 songs in each mix. and when i came back it was still playing and people still dancing and having fun in the room and new people came in too and STAYED and became regulars or even close friends. NOW PEOPLE COME IN AND LEAVE !!!! or just sit there and dont say nothing. NOBODY DANCES ANYMORE. THE VIBE IS GONE. Apparently my music meant nothing to the powers that B so to show them they mean nothing to me I have downgraded my membership, and it won't take much to put my other foot out the door and not look back. While I'm at it that streaming thing won't even take the web addresses I have put in it one being station 181 all the sites can get that station Why can't IMV you know who?

this decision didnt take in to consideration many imvu users who cannot upgrade on classic (nor do they want to use Next) because their respective pcs cannot handle much, how is this fair on those that cannot upgrade because they cannot afford newer pcs, there was not thought behind this action other than to try and shunt everyone to desktop/mobile/next despite the fact thet they have systems that cannot cope with the hog that imvu is on newer versions, a friend of mine on an older pc is in this position, they are a long time user on here, the streaming is of NO benefit to them or many others, as well as i have notice that some streams do not work in certain countries and areas so how is this a universal service?

This is total crap all the money we put into IMVU to be treated like this is uncalled for and if they end up shutting off they have no one but themselves to blame i have beenhere for 20 years now and have never once been treated like a human being. This is kinda the last straw to have all this music I PAYED FOR and cannot be able to use it or them refund back for it and if they sau precredites to pay it back NO I DID NOT PAY WITH PRECREDITS ! fully upset and sick of the non feedback lieing jerks who run this place!

@Coyote....I get the same old copy and pasted robotic replies you do and all of us members do even when I talk to them live on the chat feature...We dont talk to people that actually act like real people or have any feelings or real thoughts....we talk to robotic puppets of the Website that are told to just feed us BS answers hoping we just finally stop and go away...Thats why they dont care and couldnt care less what we say or how we feel...because they dont have the same feelings we do about making this website great again....They are self destructive robots..copy and paste machines...They have been doing that ever since they took their phone support down..Feeding us copy and pasted crap from a script treating us like we are idiots..They knew this was coming and they knew the backlash this was going to cause for the past 2 years..conveniently when they took the phone lines down at that time....They will never actual give you a real thought from their own heads..well I refuse to give up and will NOT accept this complete rip-off of our money, songs and mixes....We are real people with real feelings and loved our music, our mixes and songs that we each as individual put alot of time and invested alot of thought and money into making our mixes over many years.....How dare they take away memorial mixes I had made for many of my friends that loved this website who passed away through the years and I wanted to honor them with song...Songs that were their favorites and I could still always remember each of them by playing their mix and sharing it with our friends who loved and missed them..Those were so special to us and they couldnt care less one bit...They spit on my dear friends graves doing this to me...They have no clue what they took from each of us by doing this to us and they had plenty of time to figure out an alternate route knowing VerveLife had planned their shutdown for years....and IMVU did absolutely NOTHING to be ready for it..In fact, what they actually did was continue to take our money for songs they knew eventually we were never going to be able to keep...yet they kept listing songs ,letting us buy them and kept taking our hard earned money and gave us NO warning....SNAKES !!!!! HEARTLESS !!!!!

When I submit a "complaint" to CS I continue to get this as a response ...

This cutoff was put in place to ensure a consistent and fair approach across all accounts as part of retiring the service.
We recognize this may not cover all past purchases and may not fully reflect your overall experience with the feature. While we’re not able to extend refunds beyond this period, please know that your feedback is important, has been noted, and will be shared with the team."

Apparently my music meant nothing to the powers that B so to show them they mean nothing to me I have downgraded my membership, and it won't take much to put my other foot out the door and not look back. While I'm at it that streaming thing won't even take the web addresses I have put in it one being station 181 all the sites can get that station Why can't IMV you know who?

this decision didnt take in to consideration many imvu users who cannot upgrade on classic (nor do they want to use Next) because their respective pcs cannot handle much, how is this fair on those that cannot upgrade because they cannot afford newer pcs, there was not thought behind this action other than to try and shunt everyone to desktop/mobile/next despite the fact thet they have systems that cannot cope with the hog that imvu is on newer versions, a friend of mine on an older pc is in this position, they are a long time user on here, the streaming is of NO benefit to them or many others, as well as i have notice that some streams do not work in certain countries and areas so how is this a universal service?

This is total crap all the money we put into IMVU to be treated like this is uncalled for and if they end up shutting off they have no one but themselves to blame i have beenhere for 20 years now and have never once been treated like a human being. This is kinda the last straw to have all this music I PAYED FOR and cannot be able to use it or them refund back for it and if they sau precredites to pay it back NO I DID NOT PAY WITH PRECREDITS ! fully upset and sick of the non feedback lieing jerks who run this place!

@Coyote....I get the same old copy and pasted robotic replies you do and all of us members do even when I talk to them live on the chat feature...We dont talk to people that actually act like real people or have any feelings or real thoughts....we talk to robotic puppets of the Website that are told to just feed us BS answers hoping we just finally stop and go away...Thats why they dont care and couldnt care less what we say or how we feel...because they dont have the same feelings we do about making this website great again....They are self destructive robots..copy and paste machines...They have been doing that ever since they took their phone support down..Feeding us copy and pasted crap from a script treating us like we are idiots..They knew this was coming and they knew the backlash this was going to cause for the past 2 years..conveniently when they took the phone lines down at that time....They will never actual give you a real thought from their own heads..well I refuse to give up and will NOT accept this complete rip-off of our money, songs and mixes....We are real people with real feelings and loved our music, our mixes and songs that we each as individual put alot of time and invested alot of thought and money into making our mixes over many years.....How dare they take away memorial mixes I had made for many of my friends that loved this website who passed away through the years and I wanted to honor them with song...Songs that were their favorites and I could still always remember each of them by playing their mix and sharing it with our friends who loved and missed them..Those were so special to us and they couldnt care less one bit...They spit on my dear friends graves doing this to me...They have no clue what they took from each of us by doing this to us and they had plenty of time to figure out an alternate route knowing VerveLife had planned their shutdown for years....and IMVU did absolutely NOTHING to be ready for it..In fact, what they actually did was continue to take our money for songs they knew eventually we were never going to be able to keep...yet they kept listing songs ,letting us buy them and kept taking our hard earned money and gave us NO warning....SNAKES !!!!! HEARTLESS !!!!!

When I submit a "complaint" to CS I continue to get this as a response ...

WHO made this decision? How is this "fair" to those of us who have been purchasing from your store for years?
