Hello, Creators!

We know that as of late, there has been questions and confusion regarding MCG manipulation. What is acceptable? What crosses the line...etc.?

To help address this, we've created an initial Guidelines document that we hope will help.

Please give it a read and then provide us with any feedback/questions you have below - so that we may address them and continue to add to and update information that will guide your fabulous creations down the right path!

Thank you!

But they dont, many dev asked and they got passed, the quite frankly ignored concerns, the same way they ignore the chart for skin texture colors for mcg. By putting their guidelines they get stung for responsibility when things goes wrong. So they don't because it far easier to pass the buck.

am a grandfathered creator (non creating right now due to fighting cancer) anyhoo....this manipulating of the MCG is purely a way of skirting the GA rules in so much as it appeals to the non AP holding users who want that sexy clothing without the AP cost, and it puts everyone at risk, ive been on here for 16 years and have seen this scenario played out time and again on imvu, with the goal posts shifting every single time.

You cannot get ordinary users to do peer review when they have ABSOLUTE NO IDEA what the mcg is or the rules regarding coverage, all they want is the free creds and will pass everything regardless, PR must and should ALWAYS be in the realm of creators as we are the ones who should have an understanding of the guidelines, and creators should be rewarded better for doing PR not the pittance that is offered when they are already being run ragged to maintain their statuses.

All i can see coming from this is an oncoming tsunami of re-ratings and credit refunds, creators going into the red and accounts going. IMVU need to be more transparent and actually work with the creator community to resolve this and educate its CS teams alot more if this is going to work. Half baked ideas and solutions are not going to work.

Work with the creator community IMVU, not against it and youll see much they can really do.

@QBL Exactly. It's a little annoying after so many years of reporting things that should be in the AP category, even to the point where there was a visual aid made and sent, only to be told it was "body shaming" and it was going to be allowed because of that. I'm glad they're finally doing something, but if anything, it's always consistently inconsistent.

I know I'm on the "bad actors" list because I started to be honest about things and spoke up about a few things, but I don't really care. Like that quote by Sophocles goes, "Better to fail with honor than succeed by fraud."

We've all put at least a decade into this place, for what? Ignored because we aren't vapid "influencers" and our legitimate hard work gets passed up for those who boost their way to the top pages with no repercussions. Even that one chick who did you know what right before Alimorinaa passed away got chosen to be in the Showcase despite being a well-known texture thief who had a previous account disabled for it, yet somehow I got blackballed from it even before I started voicing my frustrations.

I loved creating products just for the sheer joy and artistic expression of it. I loved teaching others how to become creators and make their own products, but all of this nonsense over the last few years combined with the rapid drop in sales has just sucked the life out of any inspiration I might have. That's why I'm closing down my shop. It's disappointing, to say the least.

i think imvu should be checking all new clothing meshes before they can be derived from for this, as a developer i wont derive from an item that doesn't look right to much boob showing for 1 or to much butt, but i think this should be put back on imvu for not doing the initial peer review of a clothing mesh, this would also catch many of the ufi items and black market items that make it threw.

It would seem that as a dev i have one of two choices for each mesh that i derived from.

1 - just make the items from that mesh AP which is fast and easy using the " Add HTML Description" link on each product page, then "Product Rating:rating" field.

2 - To create new MCG cover for the two areas.  this raises the problem of each dev and customer service having a SUBJECTIVE idea of what that coverage should be. Now I created three new opacities for MCG coverage that i think meet the requirements. But will whoever reviews my clothing in CS agree??? WE need a solid OBJECTIVE standard to guide us here. Or are we entering an era of guess guess depending on who we got in CS for final reviews...

Forget Peer Review, most of them will be so confused... is this a type A,B, or C body ??? which MCG skin do i use!!!!!!

And put that all together with the vip stunt, funny how they came out with this after the vip. This means instead of being able to create to earn your cash you will be spending time going through your shops. Creators should have been shown this before the vip they could have made a valued decision then when to purchase vip if they wanted to. I think some will just throw in the towel now.

I see many don't even understand what is happening. This is not only about MCG "manipulation", this is not only about big boobs, about big butts, about new mesh bodies, about how big the coverage area is.

Literally, everyone could be affected by these new updates. All bodies, even with small and super small boobs are "manipulated" in front or back side.

Not connected with MCG but even products that have no connection with mesh bodies can now be affected and re-rated to AP.

I have an easy time finding sympathy for every mesher who actually got their body approved by IMVU itself, not some random peer reviewer who started to do peer 2 days ago. And then I have a really easy time finding that same sympathy for every creator who derived from that mesher. People just don't understand what all of this actually means and what can happen to all of us. I don't have as many products as others, I never derive from unknown mesher, and most of my products are AP because I made them as AP... Still, I know what these changes mean and I will stand by the side of any mesher and creator who did nothing else but work hard to give us a variety and better-looking game all followed by the approval of IMVU.

With that being said, and to finish it, I didn't say others are not ready to respect new rules and adapt to them... What meshers and creators need is IMVU making things clear, about how meshers can fix their bodies to make them still usable for the GA public, how creators can update their products, and give us an exact example of what is now acceptable and what isn't for GA, stand by our side and help every mesher and creator transfer their "must to be transferred" products to AP without punishing them since IMVU is the one who approved most of these bodies in the past (as well promoted, used in showcases, etc.), or let creators keep their products as they are but new ones have to apply to new rules.

I don't think we were ever supposed to make so many items that we can't keep track of anymore. Even laws in real life are changing right now, making things more strict between the division of adults and minors.

Right now my shop just got hit because I derived some GA rated clothes that were too large for ages +14 GA, eventhough they were covering much more than the MCG, cs told me it's the size that's the issue. It's an old product, I can see why today this is not acceptable for GA, and it actually is totally ap theme, and it wasn't discussed in the past because they weren't popular enough to be deemed worth the attention when folks are already busy enough. Our culture is truly evolving, I think we should grow with it. I think it would have been a lot easier to re-rate the meshes and allow the system to automatically re-rate all the products derived from them, but I was informed it's not set up that way. I think this is going to be a nightmare for shops that are huge and have to deal with the task of manually re-rating each item one at a time. I know we're supposed to make sure we can handle all our own items just incase anything happens we can still be responsible, but I'm sure so many of us thought we were 100% sure lol Life is just full of surprises, I really hope they forgive us lol
